Jesus didn't need John's baptism of repentance either -- but he submitted to it. Why, then, should it be so difficult to accept that Jesus submitted to purification even though he didn't need it?

The baptism of Jesus meant His public acceptance of death, burial and resurrection to save sinners.

The baptism of John was for those who repented of their sins. Why should Jesus Christ (who is without sin) submit to John's baptism? Because, at the outset of His ministry.
