Assuming here is a "real" believer in Jesus, rgenerated by God...
Through whatever reasons, deides to 'walk away' from his faith
Goes to unbelief, or just stops moving forward in his walk with Christ

What will happen to that person here and in hereafter?

Why would a "real" believer want to 'walk away'?

I'm so happy being a Christian I just can't think of any good reason to leave Him. If I ever did I know it would break His heart and it would also break my own. I don't know a single soul that would trade happiness for a broken dismal exsitance. Do you? Never the less there are those who walk away for reasons I don't understand. If the Lord doesn't go after them they were never saved to begin with. There are great pretenders among us.

It simply won't happen. A believer is become a "new creature" and as such can never go back to what he was.

    Scripture

    1 John 2:
    Warnings Against Denying the Son
18 Dear children, this is the last hour; and as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come. This is how we know it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.
20 But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth.[Some manuscripts and you know all things ] 21 I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth. 22 Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist—denying the Father and the Son. 23 No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
24 As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is what he promised us—eternal life.
26 I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. 27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.

    Hebrews 6:
4 It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age 6 and who have fallen[Or age, if they fall ] away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. 7 Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. 8 But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned.

This is why I think it is so important for us in this.

    Hebrews 3:
12 See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. 13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. 14 We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end.

1 Corinthians 3: 11For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

    12Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;

13Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

14If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

15If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Verse 15 talks about one that has walked away ir has not built up rewards of intrinsic value.

1 Corinthians 5:4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

6Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

If the man in Corinth had not turned back from his sin and walking out of the will of God. Walking after the flesh and having turned from God, would be turned over to Satan for destruction of the flesh (i.e. the sin unto death) yet Paul said that the Spirit might be saved. He would have salvation but would lose his physical life.

    Soul

I have no problem with the Spirit returning to God, if he tasted the Spirit, what happens to his soul.

The result of our faith is the salvation of our soul right?

The 1st Corinthians 3:15 passage applies they are saved yet so as by or through the fire. The inference Paul gives is that man would be saved.

    Abide in Christ

As long as we abide in Christ we will be saved and any work we did apart from Christ will be burned up, but we will be saved.

The reward of our faith trusting in Christ is the salvation of our soul. Apart from Christ we are good for nothing but to just be thrown in the fire.

We are nothing apart from Christ, nothing. Clothed in Christ and He makes us something. No matter what we trust in Christ no matter what men may say. Many people are called, but only those who are clothed in the proper attire will be saved from destruction and that attire is Christ, because no one can take them from His hand. Jesus tells us abide in Him and He will abide in us.

If someone can walk from Christ then as the verses stated they were never His in the first place. Can someone really walk away from Christ mentally stable meaning not retarted, senile, or things of that nature knowing what He did for them?

This is my calling, what I have been called to do. I will not go any other direction.

I know of three examples I can give.
One I grew up with going to church and my age. He witnessed, and people trusted Christ, he served God for many years. Then he had an affair or two on his wife. Divorced remarried and never has returned to church. So what say ye saved or lost?

The other a strong man of faith a deacon in a church. He along with about half the church left and followed after unsound doctrine. The man passed away a few months back after several years of alzhemers and finally be left in a nursing home room and getting dehydrated which when discovered was irrevesable. Strong witness again folks trusted Christ fro his witness, saved or lost?

The last a man who received Christ when a nephew died. I saw this man weeping bitter tears for salvation, but because his wife was a specific denomination he followed that church. Saved or lost?

Only God knows the heart Rev. My personal belief is that all three are saved, but the first guy quit laying up rewards when he began sleeping around, the second may have earned a few during his time in the false teaching, but that time is likely the cause of his decent into bad health and the third guy you didn't give enough info on. If he had faith in Christ sacrifice, we'll see him in heaven (with or without rewards).

Better a shack in heaven than a mansion in hell.

    My calling

My calling is not their Judge, but love them and do what I was called to do.

My point exactly God knows each one's heart. We are to love the sinner but not their sin, because we too have sin that besets us, the difference in those I gave and those who keep walking is 1 John 1:9. Confession of sin restores the walk in fellowship with God.

The Lord knows who are his, I don't. But the Bible is full of God using unbelievers to further his purposes. Just because he shared the gospel didn't mean he believed it, could have had other motives.

If indwelt with the Spirit of Truth, he wouldn't have followed unsound doctrine.

If he was following his wife, or a denomination he was looking in the wrong place. Its about a relationship with Jesus.

If Christ atoned for the sin of Miss X, then Miss X will repent and believe and spend eternity with the Lord.

If Christ did not atone for the sin of Miss Y, then Miss Y will never repent and believe, and will justly spend eternity in hell.

It is not based on Miss X or Miss Y's works or perception or testimony; it depends on the atonement. Atonement is the actual transfer of guilt and punishment from one to another.

Jesus' death benefited everyone. It benefits this old sin-cursed planet. But His atonement benefits only His own, those in the beloved, chosen by the Father and given to the Son in eternity past.

This is why limited atonement is central to substitutionary atonement.
