I agree with Squire and av1611.........

if you who first responded on this thread would have read the article you would find that it was well-balanced and put forth a good position. I don't see how you could post such mean-spirited stuff unless you just did not take the time to read what WD posted.

If I said anything remotely 'mean-spirited' then I apologize.

I DID read it. It was hard. I had to make myself do it. But I did.

And I still feel the same way.

Although I REALLY want to take the time and go through the article point-by point, I don't really have the time. I will just say it sounded to me like 'locking the barn door after the horse is already out'.

Mean-spirited...I didn't take it that way...but I tend to be overly sarcastic, so I'm probably wrong.

I offer no apology, because I didn't comment on Cloud. I only spoke up when the opening poster accused the folks before him of being hell-bound. Questioning one's salvation is way out of line.

That was much more "mean-spirited" than any responses given before that.

    you're right, rbell.

after reading what Cloud wrote, I do not see why anyone would defend him with the OP and then do the opposite of what he puts forth.

    Mean Spirited?

Is my saying I doubt those Salvation anymore "Mean-Spirited" than those who run David Cloud down?

Boy, I'll tell ya, The LIBERAL BIAS of THIS SOUTHERN BAPTIST/REFORMED BAPTIST BOARD sure is beginning to come out!

They ought to rename this board to Southern Baptist/Reformed Baptist Board. Because that's about what it is... I sure am seeing why Diane left this board as a Mioderator and User.

Yes. no one questioned his salvation, and more importantly, no one questioned yours.

Besides, you've made much more strident comments about other ministers than the folks made about Cloud. (you've slammed everyone from Rick Warren to Hyles).

You make a practice of slamming the SBC and all of its members. "Apology" seems to be a foreign word to you.

Y'know, I get along with virtually everyone here...some folks are more IFB than I am, and others lean toward the moderate or even liberal persuasion, and I disagree with many folks quite often.

But you seem to love conflict, and you enjoy making mean-spirited and extreme adversarial statements that have no purpose other than to draw the ire of others. I'd suggest either calming down, or finding another board.

But hey...priesthood of the believer, baby. Do what you want.

But questioning folks' salvation and running folks down like you tend to do might give you a free vacation from the BB...

Don't know this "Diane" person. But you sound mighty unhappy, so why don't you join her?

While I dont agree with him, I can't wait to sit with him in eternity and discuss our different opinions....I don't make it a habit of judging others salvation.... That is just wrong.

Chill out bro... relax, take a deep breath...we may disagree, but noone is out to get you....

    Squire,

I have read your Posts and you're correct. I know your not, The rest of these guys, I have my doubts about.

I make no bones about it. I don't like the SBC. Never did, never will. I just cannot share the same air with Christian Liberals. just that simple. I mean, The SBC's new President even said..."I believe in the Bible, But I'm not mad about it!" Why didn't he just say?... "look guys, I read the Bible, but I don't trust it to be the final authority, people that do that are of the luntic fringe!" (Like most SBC's think of IFB'ers like me)

Anyhow, Squire, If I offended you in any way shape or form, I apologize to you sir.

As for the rest? I do not apologize to those who think it's okay to run David Cloud in the ground, But when I say something questioning your salvations, you turn on me. sorry guys, I don't play that game.

    Good day!

I agree with The WinDork that David Cloud is an outstanding Bible teacher and preacher. I wish that there were 5,000 more like him in the U.S.

Not at all. I know of some ABC Churches which are still keeping with the Old Paths, KJV, Hymns, Ect... not all, but some, and from what I understand, they are far a very few between.

Just be clear, I have nothing personally against the SBC, ABC, BBFI, WBFI, Themselves, okay? I just have some issues with some of the goings on within those Groups... that's all.

Don't know if I'm included in your "four guys" or not, but satire does not always equal to venom. One might even find a bit of 'satire' in the Bible, like Jesus' statements about "whitewashed tombs" or a "Camel going through the eye of the needle". Or in the OT, how about the LORD with Balaam, where He spoke through a "dumb ass" to get through to a real 'dumbass'?

FTR, I did read the article.
And I have never questioned anyone's salvation on the BB, nor am I now.
And I do not hold David Cloud in any particular light - good, bad, or better, for that matter.
But I do merely take little comfort that it is said about anyone -
One may substitute any name for " David Cloud " in the above sentence. I take little comfort in that.

One may substitute any other name for "Ruckman" in the same sentence. I take little comfort in that.

One may substitute any other two names for both "David Cloud" and "Ruckman" in the same sentence. I still take little comfort in that. So what??

As I posted on another thread about "Who said it?" - "Who cares??" Why are we comparing, extoling, decrying, attacking, or lauding, any human individual as our standard good or bad? I will answer, expound, expunge, show my own ignorance, or just run my trap at most any question that piques my interest, if I have the time and inclination.

But I see no reason to tire my fingers to type anything, especially 'bad things' about any personality. For someone's personality does not bother me, at all, on the BB. Were there any individual in the church I am a part of, who was hurting the cause of Christ there, I would probably approach them, face to face. But I will not do any 'approaching' when I am hiding behind a computer screen.

Anyone wants at me, have at it! It will probably give someone else a break.
