What is your attitude toward Calvinism?

I have chickens.

They are totally depraved.

David can answer for himself, but as for me, I've never wanted to resist chicken, so I can't say if it's irresistible or not.

Actually, I acted consistently with my nature. Since I'm Baptist and I'm from the South, my nature is to desire chicken (pig, cow). Just this morning, my beloved wife fixed some dead pig in the skillet. I joyfully exercised my free will to accept the offer.

 

I like my chickens "free range". . . .

 

The Calvinist on this BB have convinced me that Calvinism is in error.

 

...Or at least portions of what they claim to be truth is in error. Another thing is that the Calvinists I have spoken to in person seem to have a vastly superior attitude than many here on the Internet.

 

They are truly the "goats". They will eat anything you throw to them, even if it has been dead for days!!

 

Well then, you were foreordained to eat them chickens, and you have no choice but to do so. :tongue3:

Funny, I didn't feel like I was being dragged kicking and screaming to the table. I certainly did not act against my will. I acted freely within my nature (Baptist, southern).

That's the truth. Their dietary laws would be too much to handle.

 

Yes, I often wonder how they made it onto the "kosher" food list.

I have heard chicken referred to as the "gospel bird". As a young boy, I always fretted over my mother inviting the pastor over for Sunday Dinner, I knew he would get the choice pieces. Many chickens were a part of his ministry.

 

Well, I have been dragged away from the table kicking and screaming, wanting more chicken. :laugh:

I'd have to be a '"closet" Jew at best. I'd sneak away somewhere and eat me a porkchop from time to time.

 

Take it from me, I have been around chickens pretty much my whole life. People can state how nasty a hog is, but a chicken is just as nasty, if not nastier than a hog. If'n you ain't afraid to eat a chicken, you shouldn't be afraid to eat ANYTHING!!

 

This is supposed to be a true story, but I do not know the true validity of it.

A preacher was preaching one day at the end of a service. While he was preaching, some of the Sisters left to get the tables set for the dinner after the service. While he was preaching, he could smell the chicken in the air. He was preaching from Job, and made this statement,"Man is born, but a few days, and full of chicken". Like I stated in the disclaimer, it is supposed to be true.

 

Needless to say, when he came over, the chickens broke out in cold sweats, huh? :laugh:

 

Oh, I know that and they will fight over, chase each other around, squack, yell, etc over a piece of rotten anything.

Truly depraved.
