I would like to know what peoples final authority is. I have not yet been able to get a non-KJVO person to say what his final authority is, all I get is dodges and evasions.

Once again how do you know what He said? Does He talk to you in no uncertain terms? Or do you have to "interpret" what He says?

I use a Bible, and the Holy Spirit teaches me.

I am not denying that the Holy Spirit talks to us,however the answer might be a while in coming because God is not at our beck and call. You may have to pray and fast a while.

Once again we are back at square one. How do you determine which of the multiple versions is what God is speaking to you from?

Multiple versions--the more literal, the better. With study of the Greek, Hebrew, or Aramaic words, this works quite well.

So what you are saying is that you have multiple final authoritys, but you cant hold up one and say "this is my final authority!!)
And which one? Greek, Hebrew or Aramaic? And what Greek text are you using?

No, I do not have multiple final authorities. God is my final authority. No, I cannot hold God up and say He is my final authority.

    Greek -NT

    Hebrew- Most of OT

Aramaic -other parts of the OT

Sorry, but the early church didn't have a perfect Bible, and they worked out quite alright ;) . Their final authority is my final authority--God.

I don't read Greek personally; I consult commentaries. The text is whatever text they use (but not the TR).

So what you are saying is that YOU are the final authority!! Unless of course you have an open telephone to God? I can hold up the KJV and say that this is my Final Authority!! And you didnt answer the question, what Greek text do you use?
Are you even a student of Greek?

The ISV,HCSB,. How can both be you ask. Boy am I glad you did. (sarcasm.)

    Romans 3:23

"since all have sinned, and continue to fall short of God's glory." ISV

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." HCSB

Look same message we are sinners and fall short of the glory of God. You KJVO can't seem to get it through your heads that all versions have the same message. They don't drastically change the message. Here's some more examples.
    Romans 6:23
"for the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in union with Christ Jesus our Lord." ISV

"for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." HCSB

says the wages or payment of sin is death but God's gift to us is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
    Ephesians 1:7
"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our offenses, according to the riches of God's grace." ISV

"In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace." HCSB

Ok the blood has not been removed as you KJVO always are talkin about  in either of these or the :NASB,NIV, ESV,CEV, NKJV,ASV, or WEB.
These are just a few examples just ask I'll just give you every verse in the Bible to prove what I did above. [IMG]

That said I my final authority is God and He speaks to me through His Word. Most of the time one of the ones above. I can hold a BIBLE and say God is my final authority and He speaks to me through His Word. And as I proved above the message is the same in all versions.
