I disagree, you would get 15 opinions [IMG]

I grew up in a GARB church. Joined the Army and shufled between SBC and IBF along the way. (A quick count, I have been a member of at least 15 Baptist churches!) I am an Independent Baptist who current local church is affiliated with the SBC.

    Frogman,

Baptist churches that are affiliated with the SBC are independent, self-governing congregations that choose to align themselves with the mission endeavors of the SBC. The SBC does not and cannot exert any governing authority over the local churches. Contrary to what others may perceive, the SBC believes in the 'autonomy of the local church'.

</font>[/QUOTE]Yes, churches that are part of the SBC are out of choice, they can leave the SBC at any time, the SBC can't force them to stay.

It is kind of like the individual states became part of the union because they choose to be part of the union, they were supposed to have the right to leave at anytime. Let's hope someone like Abraham Lincoln never is elected president of the SBC [IMG] [IMG]

It really saddened me when I first learned of this. This brother was truly a good representative of the Primitive Baptist church, and what's worse is that it is something that didn't have to happen. [IMG]

The devil sure likes to get in and stir things up to confuse and scare God's people.

We should all pray for one another daily.

Yes sir, that's me! I am a Primitive Baptist although my wife and I are not presently attending a local church but we do try to attend other such churches around the country as our travel permits it. I do post every now and then when I have time and something strikes my interest.
