I am curious about what kind of music you have in your church, and what kind of music you listen to outside of church.

In church, I much prefer traditional hymns (although I do still sit in with the worship band), but for recreation, I don't listen to much Christian music at all. They just don't make CCM in a style that I like.

Just for my own amusement, I'm keeping a running list of the CD's playing on my hi-fi. It's by no means comprehensive, but it will give you a good idea of my listening habits.

I'll tell you, I'm pretty conservative in my music. I LOVE Christian A capella music. I sang it in high school, Bible College, and the Christian camps I worked at.

There was a time in my adult life that I was trying to be as far from God as I could be. Even THEN, I listened to Christian A Capella music!

The last couple of years I've been singing bass in a Gospel quartet. I never really cared for Southern Gospel music until I started singing it! We do a lot of stuff by the Gaither Vocal Band and Acapella.

Check out this link for some quality online Christian music:

    Great poll MaineGospel...But I'm fussy, couldn't vote :D

1: Other. A bit of a mix of a few from Scripture in Song at start of service, and 2-3 hymns through the rest.

2: That's one I couldn't answer. One minute I could listen to Clapton playing some blues, the next I'ld have a Hymn Maker CD in.

3: Just about everything except country & jazz.

4: All of the above [IMG]

5: Everything but Satellite Radio [IMG]

Ben-I would have never pegged you for a metal and thrash kind of guy.

Mike-that's an exhausting list. Who is you favorite?

I loved the film "Thunderstruck" which was all about Bon Scott and AC~DC.

The Christian Hard Rockers that I like are Seventh Angel and Ex Sinner, they rock pretty hard! [IMG]

Hey, Gib, that's not even the whole list.

I don't know who to tell you my favorite is. It really changes all the time.

I've been listening to a lot of Swing, jazz and Americana lately.

Right now, I've got a Jo Stafford antholgy and Peter Mayer's Christmas CD on the hi-fi.

I couldn't answer very accuratly....In Church we use both traditional hymns as well as some modern choruses...personally I listen to so much music I don't even know where to begin and I don't know what would the "primary"

As for "where" I use none of the above...apparently, you aren't into the iTunes/iPod revolution :)

I use either iTunes or my iPod for over 95% of the music I listen to in over 30 genres according to my iTunes library :)

Dale, I've thought about getting one but technology frightens me.

Right now, it looks like I'm going to get Sirius, instead.
