"separation of church and state has nothing to do with atheism. It has everything to do with protecting the first amendment."

    to which was replied:

"It has everything to do with atheism, Ms Blake, the government is supposed to be a non-religious, read: atheist, body."

    "Religion poisons everything."

As a non-American, first amendment has no meaning to us. Atheism has always existed, and prolly will go on forever. Religion has been a common concept around the world. A large percentage who found freedom in Russia presented their religious beliefs almost immediately. Not all communists were atheists.

    Cheers,

    Jim

"Just have no chaplancy. The whole "daddy in the sky" and you'll be going to heaven thing is just plain stupid and taxpayers should have no responsibility to "support religion". It is just unconstitutional to have chaplins with dollars support them."

"I really wish this nation would ban religion. It causes too many problems and offers not one single solution. I know I know, that wouldn't be "freedom" but religion is what keeps us from being free anyway, so just kill it already before it kills (more of) us"
