    As Believers today, we have:

1.) The Testimony of multitudes of saints in the Canon of Scripture, and in Church History.

2.) The easily available original and translated Texts of Scripture, with massive amounts of indexed and referenced study aids.

3.) The published discernments of thousands of Christian academics and Church leaders.

4.) The promise of wisdom and guidance by The Holy Spirit.

5.) A Worldwide Brotherhood of Believers accessable through streamlined and instant communications.

6.) The exquisite findings of science to reveal the wonders of God's Creation.

7.) Cultural, political, and social freedoms to speak, speculate, demonstrate, and promote Godliness.

8.) Full legal protection and opportunity for economic activities by the Church essentially no less than for free enterprise businesses.

9.) Access to all aspects of modern social media.

10.) No lack of opportunity to find constructive feedback regarding every conceivable variant of Christian Doctrine.

11.) A full opportunity to read about, study, and observe end time Prophetic events spoken of in Scripture.

12.) The clear promises spoken in Scripture by Jesus and The Prophets regarding Believers attaining new hearts, new minds, physical power and strength, safety, wisdom, sufficient material goods, The Love of The Father, the Comfort of The Holy Spirit, special Spiritual gifts, unity in Christ's Body, an understanding of the actual presence and nature of Heaven as envisioned and visited by John and Isaiah, a clear description and understanding of Jesus' Earthy appearance and significance, a clear retrospecitive understanding of all of human history, secure guardianship of our hearts in Christ, spiritual armor with The Sword of The Spirit which is The Word of God, a physical description of Jesus as He is today in Heaven, a clear description of the future of the Earth within God's spiritual and physical realms, ready made answers to our Godly requests, and personal appointments to Eternal Life.

Given all of the above, why would such a powerfully enabled and well informed Believer need Faith today for much of anything? Is there anything which the above list has omitted or isthere any part of our lives which is neglected by God's omnipotent supply?

Because without faith it is impossible to please God. (Heb 11:6)

And what is this Faith which is needed to please God?

Did you have ten actual examples of this Faith whereby you have pleased God?

Last year my 21 year old daughter was diagnosed with a baseball sized tumor on her pancreas. The gastroenterologist stood outside her hospital room with us as she was heavily medicated and he told us that we had our choice of doctors around the country because this was such a rare tumor that insurance and costs meant nothing. The top doctors in the country would want her as a patient because this would mean more studies and journals and notariety.

To make a long story short, after 3 weeks of waiting due to dangerous complications, my daughter finally had the surgery under a team of the top physicians in the world. We thought we were finished with the issue but we had only just started. My daughter started vomiting 2 days after the surgery and didn't stop for 11 days. The doctors finally came into my daughter's room and said "We don't know what else to do. We don't know what's causing this so we can't fix it." They were at the end of their ability.

What do you do when your daughter is literally throwing up her insides? She is vomiting every 3-7 minutes around the clock for 11 days? She's now on supplimental nutrition because she's had surgery - and was extremely ill for 3 weeks before the surgery as well?

When we were given the diagnosis of the tumor, we cried. We were not ready to lose our firstborn but we talked with her and we prayed. On the way home from the hospital, my husband and I decided that if we knew God at all, we needed to have faith in Him that He would take care of her - whether she made it through this or not. So we put her on the altar.

Well, after the doctor had said that they didn't know what else to do, we did what we could do. We prayed. We anointed her with oil. We kissed her goodnight and we went home to get a few hours sleep. When my husband went in early the next morning, God had honored that faith. She was healed. What did the doctor say? He came running over to my husband and said "I don't know what happened but something happened last night and Lauren is better!!!" We knew what happened. The following week after she was home, I brought her in for her follow-up appointment. The doctor sat down in the chair, looked me in the eye and said "I don't know what happened to your daughter. I did what I did surgically but I didn't fix her. Something was wrong with her and we never figured out what it was and suddenly she was better and I had nothing to do with it."

What do we believers need faith for? That's just one example.

You need faith to walk by faith. You need to faith to carry out the Great Commission for example--to go into all the world and preach the gospel.

He that forsakes not all that he has cannot be my disciple. Have you done that. Do you have that faith, faith enough to forsake everything for Christ, and go to a foreign nation (like Saudia Arabia) and preach the gospel where it has never been preached before.

The Apostles did not go anywhere anytime. Jesus had warned the Apostles not to go to some places because those not accepting the message would prosecute or kill them.

Thomas went to India and was martyred there. They did go different places. Paul was martyred in Rome. Stephen's death is recorded in Acts 7. Do some research. They all died preaching the gospel. Only John lived longer, being exiled to the Isle of Patmos.

Do you think you discounted God’s word by replying that to me? God’s word stands. I think you are just being rude to the new member and to me. If you think I have not studied, then you are in a make-believe world

The Apostles did not go anywhere anytime. Jesus had warned the Apostles not to go to some places because those not accepting the message would prosecute or kill them.
An apostle being martyred at the end of their ministry does not discount God’s word and what did happen.

Ann, what a wonderful testimony of faith and God's healing power! Thank you for sharing it with us. When our backs are against the wall, and we have come to the end of ALL our hoarded and often 'failure proned' resources, we have a God to put our faith in!

These men lived by faith. Their lives showed it. The Bible says:
Yea, all who live Godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

All of the apostles were insulted by the enemies of their Master. They were called to seal their doctrines with their blood and nobly did they bear the trial.
Matthew suffered martyrdom by being slain with a sword at a distant city of Ethiopia.
Mark expired at Alexandria, after being cruelly dragged through the streets of that city.
Luke was hanged upon an olive tree in the classic land of Greece.
John was exiled to the Isle of Patmos.
Peter was crucified at Rome with his head downward.
James, the Greater, was beheaded at Jerusalem.
James, the brother our Lord, was thrown from a lofty pinnacle of the temple, and then beaten to death with a fuller's club.
    Bartholomew was flayed alive.
Andrew was bound to a cross, whence he preached to his persecutors until he died.
Thomas was run through the body with a lance in India.
Jude was shot to death with arrows.
Matthias was first stoned and then beheaded.
Barnabas of the Gentiles was stoned to death at Salonika.
Paul, after the various tortures and persecutions, was at length beheaded at Rome by the Emperor Nero.

Such was the fate of the Apostles.
They lived by faith. Their faith was in the Lord Jesus Christ. Faith is not in the material but in the spiritual. The object of our faith must be in Christ. And theirs was.

Again, in the Bible, Jesus warned the Apostles when not to go to a certain place or city. You answered what you did to the new member because you wanted to make her feel low and accuse her of not having much faith. You also had to take a jab at me and accuse me of not studying. Are you going to admit that Jesus warned the Apostles not to go to certain places?

And where did he do that?
The Great Commission was the last command that he gave to his disciples, the last instructions that he gave to them before he ascended back up to heaven. And just before he ascended this is what he said:

Matthew 28:19-20 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Is one scripture from the Word of God good enough for you?

    Acts 16:6
[ Paul’s Vision of the Man of Macedonia ] Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia.

They eventually went there, but later. God was directing their steps all the way. Apparently you need some study about how God guides through the operation of the Holy Spirit.

Faith is the personal enactment of belief. Without faith we have nothing with which to communicate to God our belief.

Its like looking at a bottomless pot of gold free for the taking, yet not reaching in to gather any for oneself......

You are an accuser. You tried to accuse JoReba of not having great faith. Now you try to accuse me of not studying. I have shown you with scripture something that you denied. Jesus kept Apostles from preaching in Asia. Now stop derailing this thread so much.

Paul went all through Asia preaching the gospel. He went on three missionary journeys and established over 100 churches. The Holy Spirit advised them not to go to that particular place at that time, but later they went there. He didn't say that they could never go there. That would be a foolish assumption.

The only foolish assumption is thinking you can get out of the fact that Jesus warned Apostles not to go somewhere.
