    Well, let's see. I describe myself as a right-wing, redneck, deep-water, Calvinistic, historical pre-mil, semi-Landmark Southern Baptist.

My church is a pretty traditional SBC church with a smattering of Cals, probably mostly pre-trib, and probably a stray Landmarker. Most don't know what that is, or if they do, they aren't one.

We've had Calvinist pastors, pastors all over the eschatalogical spectrum, but generally pretty conservative in theology.

I'm from the United States - does that make me an American Baptist?

I like to say I'm a Peculiar Baptist, based on 1 Peter 2:9

I'm cal in my soteriology (Low to Moderate, Infralapsarianism)

Eschatology I haven't figured out, never was indoctrinated per se as a Dispy, but never really knew about the other views, and do see holes in what I do understand about Dispensationalism.

I currently drive about 30 minutes to attend an SBC church that is "reformish" they are elder governed which I like, since most SBC churches are deacon and committee run, which doesn't match up with scripture. This church also puts a big emphasis on missions/evangelism, being hands/feet of Christ, and the responsibility of parents for their children being taught about the Lord. They are also not afraid to practice compassionate church discipline, unlike most SBC churches.

I don't describe myself as confessional, but what I've studied of the 1689, New Hampshire COF, and the Abstracts of Principles I do not have a problem adhering to any of these if required by a church for membership, etc.

Oh, and most importantly, to be a good Baptist you have to like fried chicken, right? If so count me in.

When moving, join as led, but on next move will start the search with another GARBC.

    Thought you'd never ask :)

I'm a born-again, spirit filled, believer. I am often seen as a Baptacostal, but, I never emphasize the gifts, nor do I believe it is a sign of having Christ in you! What I do believe is that when I was saved, it was forever unto the day I leave this life and enter glory! Which I look forward to!

I would never force my beliefs on another, if my brother or sister choose to not believe in certain gifts, far be it from me to force you to accept them. We are all in His most perfect will, and we are all on track to heaven!

Great question, and a ot of great answers!

Since we are making up definitions (like saying a "reformed" Baptist MUST believe all the nonsense of the Reformation along with the truths of those men) it is hard to place myself.

Historic Fundamentalist (not the movement which has been hijacked by loony tunes of late)
Independent - Northern Baptist roots - in the Conservative Baptist Assoc until 1968, then shifted to New Testament Fellowship of Baptist Churches, then finally just went totally on our own.
    Reformed/Calvinistic in Doctrines of Grace
    Cessationist on sign-gifts
    Progressive Dispensational in hermeneutic
Pre-Trib, Pre-Mill literalist in eschatology, awaiting the coming Kingdom (which is here in seed form and developing in this era)
Local-Church, Missions-focused, involved in Social Programs to help the needy and Pro-Life
    Conservative

    Plural Eldership
Baptistic in polity and often in name

So don't care what you call me, but use ALL the alphabet soup, please.

Christian by second birth; baptist by conviction.

Are we answering what kind of baptist we are individually, or what kind of baptist church we attend?

You do teach at a good church and it looks very solid. They link to 9 Marks, and the MacArthur tract "who do you think I am?" which is a very solid tract. The doctrine and teachings of this church look right on target with the Bible and I like the emphasis on the 5 Sola's. However unless I missed it, I did not see a statement on eschatology as typically Reformed hold to amillennialism, or Post millennialism.
