I thought that was the stupist thing I ever heard. First of all, now I am to second guess Jesus.

Ok, I think he would ride in on a Donkey. Or maybe he would take a boat. Or, oh I got it....Jesus would hitchhike. So he could talk to everyone. Why was there even that question?
    Please!

I think he'd drive whatever what was available, not go into to debt to get it, and use it to glorify his father. Well, maybe a 15 passenger van to haul those disciples around in.
I read the CNN report too and guess what- I am driving my SUV. It was a gift (yes, a gift! ) And I am sooo thankful for his provision in my life.

I said that Jesus would not own a car. I think that is biblical because the Bible teaches us that he did not even have a place to lay his head.

I also said that environmental concerns are valid. However, the ozone thing is silly. We should be concerned about the loss of wetlands (real ones) due to the role that they play in water quality. The poll question, with its reference to ozone, is not well worded.

If he were hauling the disciples around Judea, no doubt he'd need a bus of some sort. When the disciples were sent out in pairs, a compact would have been in order. When he was by himself, I think he might have taken a bike or a moped.

Is this silly? Only halfway. Is it not a Christian's concern to not waste what the Lord has given us, to keep the air and the water pure for other people and for all His creation?

What's sillier is the strident opposition to the concept, which assumes that American standards of consumption are identical to Christian responsibility for stewardship.

The question IS stupid, I guess. It was a news item this last week, and there was a so-called evangelical environmentalist group that said Jesus would NOT drive a 'gas-guzzling' SUV! I do think that Jesus would have driven a 'simple' car, and of course, it probably would have been an old, reliable 13 passenger van! (Or perhaps He would also driven a "Love Bug"? [IMG] ) The so-called evangelicals did have a point...we Christians are called (Gen.1)to be stewards of our environment.

I must be one of the only people here who hasn't even heard of this(except for what I've read on the BB). IMO, it is more a put down then anything else, I for one dn't sappreciate using the name of Jesus in this manner to sell cars, and it's hard to believe there is supose to be something christian behind it.

Why drive when you can blink and appear somewhere else?

If he was here on this earth now a days I think he might take public transportation...lol.. I would like to think that being a carpenter by trade he would drive a manly truck...like the other caprenters of today. lol

He would drive the heathen to repentance.

This topic is so silly... This is the creator of the Universe we're talking ablout here. [IMG] Drive...my stars... I doubt he would find the need.

I heard this referenced last Saturday on a PBS radio show.

    Q. What would Jesus drive?

    A. A Ford 150 pickup with camper shell.

No response from audience until host explained, "Isn't that what most carpenters drive?"

    Grace and peace,
    Uncle Ray

I like the Ford F150 Super Crew Cab...might just be my next vehicle...that's the plan anyway. Now that's a pretty truck!

The Bible is perfectly clear that Jesus Christ would drive a British Car or possibly a motorbike?

Psalm 106:47 - To TRIUMPH in your praise,

Shouldent all christians seek to drive a car that is scriptural?

When I originally heard that this group was doing this I was mad. He wouldn't own a car. Very simple idea, back then they had donkeys, horses, chariots etc. What did he drive then, a small donkey once. So if He didn't commomly use the common forms of transpertation then, why would He now.

I think concern for the environment is valid, but not to the extremes some of the tree huggers claim. If you want to drive 15 miles an hour in your electric car, more power to you. One day I would like to own a house powered by solar power. Not so much because of environmental consern, more so because it is there. I could have a house on top of a mountain and not worry about running power lines to it.
