There is another thread about taking fertility drugs for this lady to have eight babies. The doctors gave her options to either keep all the babies or abort a few of them.

But my question to everyone is this:

Ladies, if you were pregnant with eight embryos (babies), what would you do? Men, what would you advise your wives to do?

If this would be better posted in another forum, then mods please move it.

Well, there was a chance that it could have been me and if it was, I would have allowed God to control what happened.

I've dealt with infertility up until 9 years ago. I took fertility drugs (Clomid - risk of twins but not high order multiples) to get pregnant with my first two children and then took it one more time and got pregnant and miscarried that baby. I also did 3 cycles of injectables and developed 20 good eggs in one (so we bailed on that cycle and the doctor recommended sending DH across the country to be sure - LOL), 10 eggs in another (and didn't get pregnant) and then 8 eggs in the last one (and DID get pregnant - but miscarried that one too). Once we found out the new treatment for the cause of my infertility (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome/Insulin Resistance), I no longer had to deal with fertility drugs.

But in those 2 cycles where I had multiple eggs, I could have easily had a high order multiple birth and we knew the risks. If I did IVF (which was beyond where we were willing to go - we would not even have gone for AI or IUI), I would not allow more than 4 eggs to be implanted at a time even if it cost more money. It just would not have been an option for us.

If I were married & my wife had 8 babies, I would definetely be concerned.

There would be three major concerns I would have:
    1. How will my wife survive having 8 kids at once? If child birth is as painful as I've heard it is, I don't even think I could handle even having just one.

    2. Will all 8 babies be healthy? There has to be a concern about whether all 8 will be 100% healthy. It would be a shame if all of some of them were deformed or connected in some way.

    3. Will we have to consider giving up some of them for adoption? On the kind salary I get, there is no way I could afford to take care of my wife, 8 children, & myself. Of course I have heard of people having kids just so they could get tax breaks (which is just plain wrong).

Too late.. already did. Nyah nyah. And your off topic, unwarranted personal attack has been reported. I have never attacked you personally, SO play nice or don't play at all.

I wouldn't have taken fertility drugs to get 8 babies at once. So far no one has ever had 8 babies at one time naturally, this so far is unnatural to expect the human body to preform like this.
but once they're there you keep them all, with lots of prayer.

Tim, they aren't so little anymore. In fact, you are likely a lot closer to their age than mine! But I do have little grand-MPs running around!! And their old grandpa is very proud of them.

 Perhaps, but I do have an affinity for the Cardinals too, especially given the sacrifice of the late hero Pat Tillman. But in any case, even when we have had vehement disagreements, I don't think bad of you. But if you were my boy, sometimes I might send you to time out for backtalkin' your elders! :tongue3:
