Why do you believe there's a God?
Why don't you believe in evolution?
Aren't th Mormons Chritian as well?
    What about the Jehovah's Witnesses?
Why do you think Jesus is the Messiah? The Jews don't!
    Why should I do good?
How can God allow suffering in the world if God is love?

    What would you say?
I'm going to present valuable answers to these questions and any more that you may have in regards to standing up for what you believe.

Just post you questions and I will get to them A.S.A.P.!

    Thanks!
    -David

I am going to do my best to answer these questions quickly:

    1. Faith
    2. I do believe in micro-evolution. There is no strong, hard evidence for macro-evolution.
    3. No.
    4. No.
    5. I have a long drawn out answer for this, but basically, it boils down to his work on the cross and the reserrection.
    6. As a Christian, we do good because we love Jesus and he commanded us to. The Bible says if we love him, we will keep his commandments.
    7. Because God is soveriegn, and he knows what is best. If that answer doesn't please you, check out God's response to Job when he asked much the same question. It is just about exactly the same, although, not worded quite as nicely as how I put it.

    That is what I say.

I believe in God because of a faith based on evidence in
    1) His creation
    2) His working in the history of mankind
    3) His working in the lives of Christians I have relationships with
    4) His working in my life

My studies of the sciences, biological life and particularly human embryology have shown me the wonderful intricacies of how God has planned out all of life and revealed His "signature" to us through His creation. And within this signature is the mark of evolution which He has designed a mechanism for his created life to adapt and survive in changing environments. Genesis is a beautiful narrative of how God is intimately and powerfully present in the creation process that was not just about creating life, but also about entering into intimate relationship with His creation.

The Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses are religious groups that draw much of their tradition and teachings from the Restorationist movement in the US of the 1800s. In many broad definitions of Christianity, they could be classified as Christian, since the person of Jesus Christ is a key part of their worship. However, they hold a very unorthodox view of the identity of the person of Christ in addition to many other unorthodox positions that cause a majority of orthodox Christianity to consider them to be outside of their definition of Christianity.

Jesus fulfilled many of the messianic prophesies in the OT that Jews expect of the Messiah. The Jews claim that there are prophesies that Jesus didn't fulfill, making Him ineligible to be the Messiah. However, Jesus promised a return and at that time, the rest of those prophesies will be fulfilled.

If you mean I as in any Christian, I would say because God wants me to have life and have it abundantly through obeying him.

This is one of those questions that will never have a truly satisfying answer. Most say it has to do with justice or free will. But a wise pastor once said to me, "God's response to our suffering was to enter into this world, and suffer along side of us and for us."

    Questions? Sure!

1.) Why is God gonna bless Egypt and Assyria?

2.) Where's the Scriptural support for the KJVO myth?

3.) There have recently been laws passed to limit the FREE EXERCISE of religion which supercedes the general law, such as the use of otherwise-illegal drugs by certain Indians in their religious ceremonies. This is being severely curtailed again. is this good or bad?

    Here's more...

    1. What is 'Baptist Bride'? Is other denomination included here?

    2. Why do I still commit sin? Isn't I'm washed in the blood of Christ?

    3. Does God has a mother? Is the mother the fourth person of the triune God?

    4. Should I pray in the name of the Holy Spirit?

    5. Am I saved without acknowledging myself a sinner?

sorry if I messed up with my grammar :D

    :embarrassed:

Thanks for making me read and understand the rest of his posts that I glossed over.

I don't have any added questions since there are thousands of them already addressed by many Christian apologetics sites out there, some better than others.

Yes, CARM does have very nice articles, although short, but some, more correctly -- a small few, of the articles (the ones within the Christian belief) are biasly answered at times and don't leave them open to discussion from other viewpoints. I dont like how some do not offer the other view, but one man's view without looking into all the aspects of one side against the other. But the MAJORITY are very well researched and thought-out.

I'm not saying that the answers in the articles are not correct, but I do feel that a few may be oppionated and should be read with caution.

When I answer the questions I have and will put forth, I will do my best to not discriminate within demoninations. My goal will be to enforce a Christian worldview.

I will place these articles in the Other Denominations forum from request.

    God-bless,
    -David

Very fair critique of CARM. I would say that all apologetics sites and apologists suffer from similar weaknesses.

I prefer discussion over enforcement ;) and look forward to discussing some of these questions and possible answers with you. [IMG]

If God made the world through evolution, which depends on death, destruction and violence, which are the essential ingredients of natural selection and survival of the fittest, then he should not accuse us of sin. It means the world was messed up already and it's not our fault. If there is no sin, there is no need for salvation, and the entire Christian gospel is nonsense.

    My bride is a Baptist.
You still commit sin because you are still a sinner. As long as we have the old man, the body of flesh, we will never be sinlessly perfect.
As God has no beginning, He has no antecedent of any type. He exists eternally.
You should pray to the Father, in the Son, by the power and leading of the Holy Spirit. When we pray "in Jesus' Name" we are making a statement of authority to come boldly unto the Throne of Grace on the basis of Christ's atoning sacrifice on our behalf.
God only saves sinners. The Gospel is that "Christ died for our sins." If we say we have no sin we are liars and the Truth is not in us. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
