Hey, none of us are made of money, right? Spent what we had on these infernal machines, right?

Now that you have your snazzy new computer and no money to put into it, what are you going to do with it?

I'd like to see a list of your favorite freeware or source for freeware and a link on how to get to it. I'll give you a few to get us started.

    http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html (Adobe .pdf reader)

We've all seen this one! The .pdf writer cost much money, but the reader is totally free!

    http://www.irfanview.com/ (irfanview image viewer)

I really like this program alot. HUGE list of different graphic files it can open. EASILY resize an image. Limited but very effective color manipulation.

    http://www.popup-killer.info/ (pop-up killers)

Couldn't find my favorite a a glance (PUK), but this site has a variety of them. I like the noises that PUK makes when it kills a pop-up. Comes with a stock explosion noise, but I altered it to a Warner Brothers soundbite ("You pesky varmint!"). Just about drove me nuts one night using the yahoo search!

Please keep in mind the banner ads if you contribute a site, though. I'll have to delete them if there's anything inappropriate. [IMG]

I'm glad that Brian cited the AVG virus scanner. I downloaded it after a tip from Gina when the Klez virus was running rampant through the membership ranks of the BB.

It works, no question about that. It has caught two seperate viruses on this hard drive.
