When I Say I Am A Christian....

I noticed that lately there has been a lot of discussion about Christian judgment, and bickering in general. I ran across this poem on another board, and it gave me something to think about, as far as my witness is concerned. In any case it is food for thought. I am not sure who the author is.

    When I Say "I Am A Christian"...

    When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I am saved"
    I'm whispering "I get lost!"
"That is why I chose this way."

    When I say..."I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
    I'm confessing that I stumble
and need someone to be my guide.

    When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
    I'm professing that I'm weak
and pray for strength to carry on.

    When I say..."I am a Christian"
    I'm not bragging of success.
    I'm admitting I have failed
and cannot ever pay the debt.

    When I say..."I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
    my flaws are too visible
but God believes I'm worth it.

    When I say..."I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain
I have my share of heartaches
which is why I seek His name.

    When I say..."I am a Christian"
I do not wish to judge.
    I have no authority.
    I only know I'm loved.

That is a good poem, FP.

  6. Beautiful poem, it contains a lot of truth.

However, a lot of non-Christians and Christians when confronting them about their sin will throw back in your face that we are not suppose to judge others. We can. We should. We have an obligation to do so.

Many times, I have noticed the trend of unsaved people to turn this passage of scripture upside down:

    1 Corinthians 2:15-16

I don't think pointing out someones sin in a loving way is judgement. God Judged it, you just informed them of what God's judgement is based on his word right.
