    A 700-year-old castle ...

... a young, brash U.S. tank commander, beautiful women refusing to leave their men's sides, and German tank troops who hated the Nazis.

Wow! The guy's right, how in the world did Spielberg miss this story??

Simple! As a moderator states on another thread: "A chooser determines his choices, period."

Years ago I had a good friend who was a pilot in WW II. He said he flew a cargo plane into Austria after the war was supposed to be over. When he landed he said there were dead soldiers all over the airport. He would talk about the battle that no one knew about. I bet it was this one.
