and the government starts confiscating guns, what plans do you all have to retake the nation? Do you state's righters have a secret organization? A Christian underground with plans?

I just finished a book by an American communist who was in Russia when the revolution started and who personally knew Lenin, Stalin, and the rest. He was in Petrograd and Moscow during the fighting. From what he wrote there were dozens of competing political parties and the Revolution . . . just happened. No one trusted anyone else and there were no plans.

The bureaucrats and middle management sided with the Tsar against the peasants. The bank managers stole all the cash and the railroad and telephone workers stayed home. Why would the US be any different if an anti-government protest grows? What would it take for police and fire to change sides? When the Revolution stated Russia was in the middle of WW1 and the line troops were shoeless and hungry in the trenches. Do we have to get that low?

I have been thinking . . . if the rebellion comes, the LDS might be the only organization prepared to tale over and Utah may be the safest place. What say you all?

The LDS believes it will be a stronghold during the Great Tribulation---that time of Jacob's Trouble w/Rachel weeping for her children!!! I hear stories of their doctrine teaching a "stockpiling" of eateries(a la Glenn Beck radio) but they give no consideration that the Riders on those horses that will gallop the globe----will also gallop and trample all over their measley organization----the organization(LDS) in that day in my opinion can be compared to trying to deflect a nuclear explosion with notebook paper!!!

The LDS is what the Bible describes as "a wolf in sheep's clothing"---but many Baptists have no idea what Jesus was talking about when He described "wolves in sheeps clothing"----I'll put it to you this way---if I had a truck load of eggs and someone told me to put all the eggs in certain baskets for safekeeping----I certainly would NOT put any eggs in the basket labeled Latter Day Saints!!!!!

If we only knew the way the LDS was prepared we would be very frightened -- and might seriously re-think the potential for placing one of their adherents in the White House come November.

They have been preparing for doomsday since they were forced to Utah and they have done VERY well for themselves.

The rest of Christiandom are like the "description" of the early church in Acts. We've tossed everything in the ring, hoping and praying that Jesus comes back and we never have to deal with anything bad. After a time, Paul had to come to their rescue with outside offerings, but they ended up scattered anyway. I expect that will be the case with us as well.

I also predict that we WILL see the great falling away that Jesus spoke of often in parables, where 10 were called but only half prepared, where seed was scattered by the sower (note the SOWER does the scattering, not the seed, as so often preached around here!) and fell on rocky ground, shallow soil, or by the path. With the quasi-errant teaching about the rapture before "any bad thing comes to us" most people in the pews will be taken by storm once the things we see in our forecast come about, for they really have no solid rock upon which to stand -- even to death if that is what it takes. The average church-goer has a hard time making it to church if it is too cold or too hot. What will they do when there are guns pointing at their heads?

Who will rescue the US with outside offerings? Maybe we should eat, drink and be merry while leaving tomorrow for dying. I'm to old to worry about myself so eating and drinking is fine with me.

No one... The world will cheer our demise because they are now mostly closed-pie socialists.

Yes, I belong to a secret and exclusive club. It is called the Church, or the Bride of Christ. A key aspect of membership is coming to rely solely on Christ, our Head and High Priest. We seek to live according to His Will and His Way and we let Him worry about what we will eat and wear. If He calls some to provide food for those in the Church then they should gladly and willingly obey. If He calls some to provide protection, much like the Jews of Nazi Germany needed, then they ought to willfully and gladly obey. There is no worry or anxiety in preparation when walking in obedience to Him.

We strive to be good citizens of this nation while keeping our eyes on our true King and awaiting the full coming of His Kingdom on earth.

I have yet to hear a solid presentation why the church has a role in the time of "Jacob's Trouble".

    >If He calls some to provide food . . . .

How does He communicate his orders? How does He ID himself?

The Redeemed---the Church-----will not have a role----we are the New Jerusalem that will "come down" after the 1000 yr reign of Christ on earth

This is the teaching that has so many unprepared to face what CHRIST says is coming our way...
(numbers in the text are footnotes from the Net version)

Matthew 24:3 As 7 he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, his disciples came to him privately and said, “Tell us, when will these things 8 happen? And what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” 24:4 Jesus answered them, 9 “Watch out 10 that no one misleads you. 24:5 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ 11 and they will mislead many. 24:6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Make sure that you are not alarmed, for this must happen, but the end is still to come. 12 24:7 For nation will rise up in arms 13 against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines 14 and earthquakes 15 in various places. 24:8 All 16 these things are the beginning of birth pains.

24:9 “Then they will hand you over to be persecuted and will kill you. You will be hated by all the nations 17 because of my name. 18 24:10 Then many will be led into sin, 19 and they will betray one another and hate one another. 24:11 And many false prophets will appear and deceive 20 many, 24:12 and because lawlessness will increase so much, the love of many will grow cold. 24:13 But the person who endures to the end will be saved. 21 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole inhabited earth as a testimony to all the nations, 22 and then the end will come.

24:15 “So when you see the abomination of desolation 23 – spoken about by Daniel the prophet – standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 24:16 then those in Judea must flee 24 to the mountains. 24:17 The one on the roof 25 must not come down 26 to take anything out of his house, 24:18 and the one in the field must not turn back to get his cloak. 24:19 Woe 27 to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing their babies in those days! 24:20 Pray 28 that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. 24:21 For then there will be great suffering 29 unlike anything that has happened 30 from the beginning of the world until now, or ever will happen. 24:22 And if those days had not been cut short, no one would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. 24:23 Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ 31 or ‘There he is!’ do not believe him. 24:24 For false messiahs 32 and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 24:25 Remember, 33 I have told you ahead of time. 24:26 So then, if someone 34 says to you, ‘Look, he is in the wilderness,’ 35 do not go out, or ‘Look, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe him. 24:27 For just like the lightning 36 comes from the east and flashes to the west, so the coming of the Son of Man will be. 24:28 Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures 37 will gather. 38

24:29 “Immediately 39 after the suffering 40 of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken. 41 24:30 Then 42 the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, 43 and 44 all the tribes of the earth will mourn. They 45 will see the Son of Man arriving on the clouds of heaven 46 with power and great glory. 24:31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven 47 to the other.

Please explain how. Like I said, I have yet to see a solid presentation proving why.

    Mat 24

Over the last 3000 years in which generations have these things NOT happened?

24:29 “Immediately 39 after the suffering 40 of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken.

This is standard OT prophetic boiler plate for "bad stuff will happen."

Simply, and you can confirm this with a simple question to random church folk, the majority of Baptists have been taught from the pulpit and in Sunday school that they will never have to see anything regarding the end times becasue Jesus is going to rapture them from this world before any bad thing happens. This is explained theologically by proclaiming that we will not suffer God's wrath -- true -- but then the inference is that ALL end time events are in fact God's wrath, which is false according to Christ, John, and Paul.

Elaborate schemes such as "the church will simply be removed until the end of the 1000 year reign of Christ" (which is rather difficult as the church is with Him during that time) etc., are played into a vignette whereby no one actually thinks he or she has to prepare because there is nothing to prepare for.

This is probably not "solid" enough for you, but as I said, you can verify it with a very simple face-to-face poll of any given group of church folk.

Additionally, the entire "rapture and no bad stuff" teaching totally ignores the fact that God's people have endured horrific persecution, death, heresy, falling away, apostacy, etc., in virtually every age and with virtually every people group where Christ is Lord. What does one tell these people who suffered and died for their faith without seeing a saving rapture? "Oh, um, that wasn't supposed to happen that way?" No, the entire pre-trib rapture picture is a very American invention and stems from something other than the clear picture in Scripture.
