    I totally agree. At the age of 4 who is the child afraid of punishment from, God or parents?

    James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

    My question is when did you really know to do good?

    But salvation is to be saved from both sin and Hell. If a child can't understand death and the Hell that follows, he can't be saved. But frankly, I don't think Hell is that hard to understand. Children learn about the pain of fire from a very early age.

    Is it possible that folks are reading Acts 16:31 as "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be regenerated"?
