“Mel Gibson. Michael Richards. Isaiah Washington. Imus. Jerry Lewis. Every time a celebrity offends a segment of the population, he pays a price, in one way or another. The question now is whether Kathy Griffin will pay a similar price for her outburst. And as we have learned, her verbal assault was calculated.
“In an interview with Houston’s gay magazine, OutSmart, Griffin described herself as a ‘complete militant atheist.’ Unfortunately, her kind of vulgar in-your-face brand of hate speech found a receptive audience on Saturday: The Hollywood Reporter says her foul remark ‘drew laughs.’

Due to the absolute offensiveness of her remark, I chose not to paste it on the board and leave it to the reader to read the article. But as is stated in the piece, her statement pales in comparison to others whose careers were ruined. Where is the "Rev" Al Sharpton"? Where is "Rev" Jesse Jackson"? I would never interfere in an individual's right to free speech, but I for one will find out who the sponsers are for Kathy Griffin's show is and start a boycott. For those who dont know who she is I enclose a pic:

She is an atheist. Why would she revere Christianity any more than you would revere Muhammad or Buddha? Yes, it was an "in your face" comment, but isn't that what comedians do? I don't think Christians need to get all upset when a non-Christian doesn't hold reverence for things that they don't believe. We have a choice to watch her or not. Besides, words to carry a price. Remember what happened to The Dixie Chicks and Don Imus?

I'm not a fan of Kathy Griffin anyway. She has many that agree with her and use stronger language against Christ, God, and the Bible than she does. I'm not going to let what she says phase me. She's a fool, the world in general and Hollywood in particular is full of them.
"The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God"

Appropriate title for an atheist, don't you think?

Why is this even being noticed? Don't we, as Christians, have better things to spend our time watching and paying attention to? I, for one, am not the least bit offended. Why would I expect an unbeliever to act like anything other than an unbeliever?

There definitely would have been a backlash if she said the same thing about Mohammed. I'm no fan of Kathy Griffin. When she makes statements like that, she just makes herself look bad.

You need to get a life. The is an off button on TVs, radios, and the internet. People who take note and talk about stuff like this keep it alive.

When this level of blasphemy against God no longer bothers us I am afraid the Church of Jesus Christ is long gone. It is no wonder Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world and Christians are powerless.

There would be protests in the streets with effigies of her being burned if she made a statement against Islam. The media would have been all over it, too.

God will judge her for her blasphemies, and, although I am offended by her remarks, the fact of the matter is that the name of Jesus Christ will be on our minds long after the name of Kathy Griffin is completely forgotten.

Bothered me. So much so that, when WorldNet Daily posted it as a headline, I had to turn off my headline feed on the website I run.

What bothers me more, though, are those that say they are Christians, and then cuss a blue streak, fornicate and/or commit adultery, and don't think twice about cheating others out of money.

    Who deserves our outrage more?

Why do we want to act like Muslims?

Of course it offends.. but what did Jesus say to do with our enemies...\

    Pray for them...

Don't take cues from muslims, take them from Christ...

    Just my thoughts :)

It's that we want to act like Muslims. In my mind, it's a matter of political correctness. If she had made statements against Muhammad, then the Muslim community would have overreacted, and the media would have blown it out of proportion.

As is, the media just doesn't care.

Kathy Griffin is an obnoxious loudmouth who says whatever outrageous thing she can concoct in order to compensate for her complete lack of talent. There is a reason she's not an "A-lister."

I don't want to give her the time of day. Kathy Griffin is the definition of irrelevance. My beef is more with the media. What is good for the goose should be good for the gander.

Why wouldn't she say something like this? She has no reason not to. the problem with the Church is that we think unbelievers should act like believers and then we get offended when they don't. All the while, the professing believers live like the world. Kathy Griffin is, as someone has said, irrelevant. The question is, why would a Christian even know this? Have we no standards about what we read or watch?

When an unbeliever acts like an unbeliever, why are we surprised.

Go on your roof and take down your TV antenna. Watch only pre-screened movies for a month. I'll bet you will not go back to watching television after that month is over. Your mind will be clearer, and you will feel SO much better. Our Pastor challenged the congregation to do this years ago.
I don't know who Kathy Griffin is.

It doesn't surprise me that people that have negative IQ's will say what they say----a la Kathy Griffen and the rest of the Hollywood crowd

What does surprise me is that people who have IQ's enough not to listen will actually listen to those who do have negative IQ's

I once told a group of "believers" that folks like Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Madonna and others all have IQ's in the negative factor----and those believers gave me looks like-----"Dude! We stone people for less than what you just said!!!!"

The fault lies not in those who have heartless mouths----the fault lies in those who have ears for those with heartless mouths!!!!!

Yes, what she said offends me. However, the best way for me to channel that outrage is to be determined to share the Gospel with even more people like her.

I've got news for you. The Hollywood crowd, in particular, and the rest of the nation, in general, DO NOT HAVE THE GUTS to say anything against Mohammed or Islam.

And that is precisely because the difference between Islam and Christianity is that Islam takes matters into their own hands, and none of these people, comfortably living in this fallen world, want their heads cut off. They're not concerned about being politically correct. They're just plain cowards and bullies.

You can try posting the message to this idiot of a woman:

I DARE YOU TO SPEAK AGAINST MUHAMMAD AND ISLAM WITH THE SAME VITRIOL YOU HAVE FOR JESUS CHRIST AND CHRISTIANITY !!

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING. YOU WON'T AND YOU CAN'T.

Christianity on the other hand relies on the vengeance of God, and will very, very seldom take matters into their own hands.

Which is why we don't let show-offs like this woman what's-her-name get under our skins.

    Just keep cool, ya'll.
