When Don Larsen pitched his perfect game on October 8, 1956 at Yankee Stadium ... the 5th game of the world series?

I heard the last batter and pitch. I was changing classes in high school and as I passed the principal's office heard the game being played on their radio. The principal, a tough but fair fellow, let us stay to hear the last batter and go to the next class late.

If you want to see the scorecard, go to: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/box-scores/boxscore.php?boxid=195610080nya

    Who is Don Larsen?

Sorry, American brethren, you may find this hard to believe, but I cannot recall any baseball match, hower prestigious the players.

However, I can say that as 8th October, 1956 was a Monday, I would have been at primary school (school for 5-11s, so a bit like American "elementary schools", I imagine).
