If someone did, I am sorry, but didn't see anyone talking about what went on today in 2001.

    So where were you?

At work. Just happened to look over at the TV, and saw some of the initial reports; stepped into the wing commander's office and said, "Sir, you have to see this."

Grounded in northern Wisconsin. Luckily, I was close enough to get home by auto.

In bedrecovering from knee surgery. Wife called from work and woke me up and told me to turn on the tv. Thought it was an accident until I saw the second plane hit.

I was at home on my day off. my secretary called and i saw the 2nd plane hit

Went in to the church and was busy the rest of the day. We had services that night.

President Bush was here in Sarasota when it happened, Some of the terrorists took their training at the airport just south of us.

I was at work that morning. I forget who mentioned the first attack, but everyone went to the maintenance department where they had a TV set up. I remember seeing folks leaping to their deaths. Shortly after the second plane hit.

Flight 175 flew directly over my town at low altitude, we could have seen it if we would have known to look.

Was getting ready to take car in for some work, stepped in the front door and heard them saying they thought a Piper cub had hit the first tower while showing a hole bigger than a Piper would make.

Took a 4 inch battery tv with us and watched all morning off and on. Several people crowded around wanting some news.

I was walking back to my home after voting in a primary. A neighbor was standing in his yard and told me.

Walking into the tea room of the ICU that I worked at to begin the pm shift and seeing everyone watching with their mouths hanging open, and a couple of drippy eyes etc.

The whole horrible thing looped for about a week, and all of us wondering if a war was going to break out then and there.:flower:

I was watching the morning news in my home office. Program as about to go off for the day when "breaking news" changed that. At first, they were reporting about an accident with an airplane. I was watching as the second plane struck. Immediately, I knew it wasn't an accident, as did those reporting the story.

The official story is itself one of conspiracy. I admit it's full of holes, un-answered questions and contradictions but it's still a theory of a conspiracy.

Of course there are more plausible theories out there but I don't think this thread was intended to go into all that.

So much for what he knew about how to bring down a building.

For some reason your post reminds me of Dan Rather. As memory serves, Brian Gumble was heading that morning's routine newscast. He stayed on the air as coverage continued past the normal ending time. He was doing a good job. As soon as Mr. Rather arrived at the studio, he took over.

I remember being angry that Rather had to get his face, ASAP, in front of the public during this time of horror. While I no longer remember his opening remarks as he took over, I do remember losing what little respect that I had for him, as a newcaster, that morning.
