Had God not loved us so much despite the sin we commit or the sinners we are, had he chosen to not send his Son to die for us and pointed his finger at us and said...You do disgusting, horrible sins I could not love you unless you change.

See, we can't possibly know who God's elect are and that's not our duty. Our responsibility is to love and show Jesus to others, it's not even just a question of pointing a finger and judging but it's a question of testimony. If you stand before someone attempting to give them the gospel and yet your treating them as though they don't deserve Jesus....chances are they won't accept. Yes, it is God who draws them, but it's through us which they will see God or that's how it's supposed to be.

Understanding is not something required of us to do in giving the gospel, but Jesus did understand, he saw past many things people did and knew what drove them to do the sin. Understanding and commpassion is something to be considered if you plan to show Jesus to someone else.

You are correct, onestand. Understanding is not required and neither is compassion. But we do need to consider it. Only Jesus can fully understand what is deep in the hearts and minds of everyone. We can try to understand, but we can never fully understand another human being. Only Jesus can do that. We can love them and be kind and show them compassion, but we cannot understand. Possibly that is why Jesus never said we had to understand a person in order to present the Gospel of His Saving Power and Love. [IMG]

God has selected men to be His own. And that is His business.

God has selected means to share the Gospel with all. And that is Our business.

    Find us faithful, O Lord.

Very true, and if we do not treat that job with the respect, love and caring it demands we fail.
