You know, I thought most Baptist believed the same thing! But I'm finding out that I was wrong!
I also know another nugget of truth if I choose to be selfish. I know with out a shadow of a doubt that Jesus wouldn't care what church you were in as long as you have Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior! By the way I may be Baptist in most of my theology I am leaning towards being a Bapticostal in worship!
I raise my hands I shout Amen, and Praise the Lord.
When I get in the spirit I might just pray in tongues too as the spirit leads! So hows that!
But brothers and sisters, I'm not trying to brag, just sheding light on who I am in the Lord! Love ya all! God Bless you all! :D [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Unaffiliated, Fundamental, Independant, Unregistered Baptist.
The last part, "unregistered", I hope you'll all be someday. I am defining myself as conservative in theology and practice. I reject all Augustinian heresy,(that I am aware of) as it pertains to lines of so-called scripture and Calvinistic - Reformer's doctrine.

I guess the old saying is true; Where three Baptists are gathered, there are four opinions. Baptists are certainly ubiquitous.
Things are changing in Canada, but at one time "independent" once meant the local church didn't belong to one of the groups of baptists. To-day, it is a KJO fellowship. The dominant groups of baptists are: The Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada; The Baptist Convention; and, The Regular Baptists....there are other groups to-day.
I served in independent, Regular and fellowship baptist churches without any political difficulties. In Canada, we are essentially reformed (Calvinist) or liberal (theologically). Some would adhere to fundamentalism, but most are conservative. Many grew up with dispensationalism, but the Regular Baptists were basically amillennial. The Fellowship is a mixed bag.
We always enjoyed good fellowship with some of the leading Baptist preachers in the USA, but I think they looked at us a little suspiciously over the dispensational-amillennial hangup.
My personal opinion is that we put far too much emphasis on the details of the second coming and far too little concentration on being ready for that coming. Here the Catholic saying of "lighting one little candle being better than cursing the darkness" has some relevance, and I pray that Baptists would concentrate their efforts on lighting the lamps in their little corner that Jesus would shine in this world of darkness. I am not in love with the name Baptist, but I am in love with what it should stand for; the centrality of the living Christ, Lord, may I always be accused of being Christocentric....and incidentally, a Baptist.

I'm a fundamental, independent, King James 1611 Bible believing, sin hating, separated from the world Baptist. I grew up southern Baptist, and nearly went pentacostal, but I am glad the the Spirit of God is the Spirit of Truth! I like preaching that rips the hide off of my back and puts me in the altar. I believe in Holy living and being a witness to this world both in action and in word.

I'm an Independent, Fundamental, Baptist. Not reformed, not primitive, not free will, not KJV only; but, I still would count them all as brethern. I do live in the south, so does that make me a southern baptist. :D

I have, in the past, been a member of Southern Baptist churches and would join one if I felt led to by the Lord.

I'm a Southern Baptist. I grew up in an SBC Church. Then I attented a "Hard Shell" Prim. Baptist Church for a while. I returned to SBC Church membership in the early 1990's. Now I am a student at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. I'm a solid Bible believing SBC conservative. [IMG]

I was saved and baptized in a Southern Baptist church. I still love that church and that denomination, but they are both falling under the influence of the neo-Evangelicals. I am now a member of a GARBC Baptist church. Doctrinally, I agree with Pensacola Christian College and Bro. David Cloud. I am, as my displayed name indicates, a fiery Fundamentalist, pro-KJV, pre-millenial, pre-trib, Biblical inerrantist, free-will salvation, old fashioned, hymn-singing, and separatist Baptist. I have no quarrel with independent Baptist or SBC, GARBC, etc. polity. I disagree with CCM, Arminianism, Calvinism, Ruckmanism, liberalism, modernism, ecumenism, neo-Evangelicalism, modern Bible versions, and Catholicism with a passion. And I believe in shouting a hearty "Amen!" when the pastor makes a good point.
