I have tried to include all the major groups and in brackets have related groups I could think of. If you can choose two options (ie Reformed Baptist choosing Reformed or Reformed Baptist) where one is a Baptist choice, please choose the Baptist option. If you can fit into multiple baptist categories, choose the one the best describes you.

I didn't expect so many Other votes so quickly. If you voted other, please specify so I can consider including a category for you if I do this again. Thanks.

I don't consider us "Reformed Baptist" because that carries the conotation that we were "off" and then "re-formed" in order to get "back in".

Anyway, I picked that because you specified in parentheses that you were referring to Particulars, Regulars, and Primitives.

I, btw, am a Primitive Baptist.

By Reformed baptist, I am referring to those churches strongly influenced by calvinistic or reformed tradition and/or theology who do not fit more strongly in any of the other Baptist categories. It is not meant to describe baptists who have reformed in some way. Thanks.

I am other- period, a member of the body of Christ. I happen to be a 'member' of an 'independent' local church (Forks of Dix River) that chosen to associate with the Southern Baptist Convention. BTW, we (FDR) could not be 'Southern Baptist' if we wanted; we are the third oldest extant Baptist church in KY, and are the were constituted as a local body over sixty years before there was such a thing as a Southern Baptist. I'm not trying to be argumentative, (I usually don't even have to try) but suggest that if a church is Baptist, it is independent by definition. Who that church decides to associate with is another matter.

Thanks Ed for your feedback. I understand your position and this poll is not meant to corner you into a stereotype but I created it to give me an idea of the make-up of the BB and see where people self-identify.

It sounds like you could have selected Southern Baptist, Independent Baptist or Other Baptist.

If I created a category called "Christian attending Baptist Church" would you have chosen this option?

    Thanks

The poll lists Calvary Chapel as nondenominational. In fact, Calvary Chapel is its own denomination. My wife was a faithful calvarean until we married. We're currently seeking a local church to attend together (my home church is now 20 miles away, thanks to me having relocated to the northern region of the OC). We're at a tossup between a local Quaker church, and Reformed church. No rush, I'm sure God will let us know when He wants to let us know.
