which one is the blessing

    financially speaking that is.
    in one instance you have a person who is lost, a sinner yet prospers and seems blessed to reap multitudes of cash flow for all their labors.
    another example you could have a Christian that has financial gain and prospers much for the fruit of their labor. are both being blessed from God or just the Christian?

    Worldly treasures only last while on this Earth. Only the Christian will be blessed in heavenly treasures. Mansions? Crowns? Streets of Gold? Which one do you think gets the real blessing?

    Lay up those treasures in Heaven. Eternity is a long time.

    so are you saying that God doesnt give out any blessings other then the spiritul blessings?

    It looks like what was said is that the blessings of this earth aren't as important as the eternal blessings.

    The Christian receives blessings, trials and tribulations.

    The sinner or unsaved receives blessings, trials and tribulations.

    This is life.

    The difference...the Christian has God, hope, and life eternal. The unsaved does not.

    do you believe that a Christian can recieve financial blessing due to obedience and service?

    (Matthew 6:19-21 NIV) "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. {20} But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. {21} For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

    So many people think $$ is a big deal, can't really see what they see in it myself.

    God causes the rain to fall on the just and the unjust ... ALL is God's, He gives to people their prosperity as He chooses ... so in the context of the question .. God has materially blessed both, just that one is unable to see the grace of God in what he has.

    I believe Bob Farnaby has answered this question and I also refer to the following verse.

    Matthew 5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust

    I really don't know if we receive financial blessing due to obedience, but I don't think this should be the reason for obedience to God. We should praise and obey our God without expecting to receive anything. He has already given us the greatest gift. The gift of eternal life.
