I love these threads - you always find out so much about people (and blush, that diamond stud suits you!)!

Okay, I'm Kelly, and I'm 25, unmarried and have no children. I live with my kitty, Clio, just outside DC, which I absolutely love! I do miss my close friends, none of whom live nearby, but I'm slowly earning new ones, not to replace, but to enhance my circle. I work in Bethesda, MD, at a branch of an investment banking form, and I'm the reconciliation accountant. It's a far cry from what I went to school for, but it's fun, and I love learning about a new industry.

I attended two colleges, James Madison University and Guilford College. At JMU, I majored in vocal performance, but wasn't satisfied there, so I quit and worked for a sign company for two years, starting out on the phones and doing secretary stuff, then moving on to some accounting, then acted as purchasing agent and project manager before leaving to return to school (Guilford).

At Guilford, I got back into music and theatre. I did five shows in my four years there, and sang in the choir all four years, too. I created my own major in sexuality and gender studies, which is a nice hodgepodge of philosophy (mostly philosophy, really), anthropology, sociology and political science, with some history and literature thrown in for balance. I'm still working on my thesis, without which I cannot graduate, and when that's finished, I plan to continue on to law school.

I love movies and music, read incessantly, and love writing and doing research. I love to debate, too, and have spent many a Friday arguing politics over a pint.

My favorite season is autumn, although there's something I like about each season. In summer you can visit the shore without having to bundle up in jeans and a sweater (although that can be fun, too, walking on the beach in winter), in spring you can go see the cherry blossoms and revel in the beauty of the earth's renaissance, and in winter, well, in winter you can sit by the fire with a mug of cocoa and watch snow fall. As far as ethnic heritage goes, I'm a European mutt. My mother's family is Irish and English, with a little French and Scots thrown in for good measure, and my father's is mostly Dutch and German. My father's family is Semitic, and their relatively recent ancestors were religiously Jewish, though they like to pretend otherwise. I don't really understand why.

I have two brothers whom I've never met, and don't plan to meet, except maybe at my father's funeral (they're his kids from his first marriage). My father's parents are both dead, and as much as it pains me to say this, I don't think my mother's parents are too far off fom death themselves. [IMG]

My parents and I have a good relationship, I think. My father spent over 5 years of my life in prison, which certainly didn't help us any. He and I still have trust issues, but we work through them and manage to have a loving relationship. In some ways, I'm closer to him than to my mother, but she and I have an interesting bond, too. We spent three years (the first time Dad was "away," as they like to call it) going from home to home, staying with friends and family, and came to rely on each other greatly.

I'm currently dating a great guy named Phillip, and I guess you could say I'm "dating" his daughter, Annabel, too. I'm in the process of trying to get over my commitment "issues," because I feel myself moving farther and farther away from him, which may be the wrong thing to do.

Oh, and I like to talk about myself. [IMG] That's a flaw I'm working to overcome. Some others are: procrastination, excessive eating, selfishness and a piteous habit of self-deprecation.

I think that's me. I know it was a lot of history-type stuff, but I think it's history that helps mold us into who we are.

I am a 35 year old mother of 3 daughters.(10,8 and almost 3 months)We'd love another one! My husband is in the medical field and we live *somewhere in the south*!

I love to homeschool my children. I also enjoy hiking, running, reading, swim, and home decorating. We have recently built our new home,so we are enjoying furnishing and getting it to look like *our* home.

I went to a state univ and received a degree in Elem Educ. I taught for a whopping 2 years before children came along.

The church we are members of is an hour away...so we drive alot! :D

My favorite foods are mexican and italian...we love to eat out and shop.

We enjoy outdoor vacations, like the beach and hiking mountains.(well, little mountains)

Glad to get to know some of you better!

    Molly

Are you referring to the "old" Charing Cross--which is now Embankment, or to what used to be Trafalgar Square on the Bakerloo and Strand on the Northern--which became Charing Cross when the Jubilee Line was started in 1979? BTW, the Jubilee does not serve Charing Cross since it got expanded eastward in 1999.

    Hi!
My name is Jessica I live in Missouri (the show-me state), I am a Southern Baptist we attend a Southern baptist Church but my husband was raised Assemblies of God but he loves the Lord and that's good enough for me! I have 3 children 11, 9, and 8 stepping stones. This is my 2nd marriage I have been married for 6 years. I have two dogs and two black cats, I love animals. My hobbies are going to the gym, swimming, fishing, bowling, crocheting and cross stitch, I love to stay busy with the kids I am in PTA and attend a parenting class "Parenting with Love and Logic." The one thing I didn't have growing up was parents that were involved with me in church and school so I am giving that to my children. My mom and real Dad divorced when I was 2, my Dad was a Director of New Life Missions in Panama my Mom remarried 2 times the 3rd time is now and she has been married for 13 years I think! I was an only child but not spoiled! Well enough about me .. Next!
Oh NO .. I forgot one thing the most important thing of all I LOVE THE LORD WITH ALL MY HEART!!!!

I have a short autobiography on one of my web sites and it will tell you just about all you need to know about who I am, where I've been, and where I'm going. [IMG]

It also has a picture of me, my 4 children and their spouses, and my 16 grandchildren. At the bottom of the page is a picture of my hubby and me when we renewed our vows.
The link to get there is below.

    ALL ABOUT ME

    Blessings,
    Sue
