According to the New Testament, what positions in the church require ordination? I can only find references concerning elders. Please site references with your answer. Thanks

Require ordination? I don't know of any.

However it is customary for elders and deacons to be ordained by the body of the local church - not a council of ordained people from outside the church.

Elders were ordained (bishop, pastor, whatever descriptive name of that part of the office). NOT deacons or anyone else in the NT.

But not "forbidden" to deacons. Just think it is NOT the same thing.

Ordination should be a very special action of the church on obviously-gifted and qualified men to serve God's churches.

Having "sham" ordinations of unqualified and untested men or of a plethora of unqualified men who happened to get elected "deacon" is pathetic.
