For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. John 12:49

Is the Father who revealed the words to Peter, " Thou art the Christ the Son of the living God," building the church through that Son Jesus of Nazareth?

Or is Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ, the Son of the living God building the church?

By all means use your freedom of will to post scripture.

Yes, using the hands, feet, minds, and mouths of those who already belong to Him.

...way too many churches of today have been built by those who grew weary of picking cotton.:laugh::laugh:

Otherwise, the church belongs to Jesus. He has clear title.

Believe God Himself is involved in the process, as the father draws thsoe to get saved unto Jesus, the Spriit enables them to receive Jesus, and jesus saves them!

In many parts, and many ways, the God of old having spoken to the fathers in the prophets, in these last days did speak to us in Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He did make the ages; Hebrews 1:1,2 YLT: I put (the) before God in V1 and removed the (a) before Son in V2 because even though I know, no Greek I just thought it was the thing to do.

What if any is the the relationship of the God in verse 1 to Son in verse 2?

Did one of these appoint the other as something?

In Matthew 16:18 is Jesus who I assume to be the Son speaking for himself or is he speaking for his Father, the one who sent him into the world through birth from a virgin woman, the one who had appointed the other, heir of all things?

Who is building the church of the God, local or otherwise, and how is it being built? Is the Holy Spirit necessary to one becoming a living stone to be added to the church?

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: John 14:26 and 15:26

Reconcile the path of the Holy Spirit in those two verses. Is the reconciliation relative to? John 16:7 > Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.< and Acts 2:32,33> This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
