I know the 10 commandments have been thrown out of our courts and our schools but why here? Why under lock and key?

1JOHN4 [1] Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.[2] Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:[3] And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.[4] Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Do you believe that Jesus came in the flesh? Do you also believe that he was tempted just as you or I am tempted? Do you believe that Jesus overcame the world and we as believers must also overcome? If you answered no to any of these questions, the above scripture points out that you have the spirit of antichrist.

REV.3 [19] As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.[20] Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.[21] To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.[22] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Repent! Overcome! I know these are not the smooth words the many enjoy hearing but these words will come to pass. According to the many theres nothing to repent of, as they claim we are not bound by Gods ten commandments, therefore there is no sin, as sin is the transgression of the law.

1 JOHN 5 [1] Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.[2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.[3] For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.[4] For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.[5] Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?

So….How do we know that we have overcome the world? The above scripture will tell ya how to know. Are the ten commandments to hard (grevious) to keep? If you answer yes to this question Id like to hear which ones so hard. Adultry? Killing? Which one is grevious to you?

    1 John 5: 4&5 bears repeating, don't it ?

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? [IMG]

It's allready done. Not freedom to sin, but freedom from sin. Coplete, sealed unto the day of redemption.

    Romans 4:2-5

For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God. For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

It's not of works. We are not under the law, we are under grace.

    Hi Bro Curtis
I understand that you will not be saved by works.Do you think Abraham was attempting to obey God and keep his commandments. What do you do with the 99% of the other scriptures if you happen to read past the one liners? All the scriptures that say do this and dont do that or no goin to the Kingdom. You can ignore them i guess but unless your makin big money off this system(they will already have thier reward) itll do you no good when ya stand before Christ.
