A poll for this week only, for obvious reasons. Which 2 teams will play in the BCS Championship Game?

LSU should win out...of course i'm a little biased (Geaux Tigers!); and i don't think either Mizzou or Kansas will beat OU in the Big 12 championship.
So the Mountaineers against the Tigers in New Orleans.

One could easily question your reasoning as biased. You say "LSU should win out," yet you say neither Kansas nor Missouri should win the game between them and also win the Big 12 CG... when Kansas is undefeated, Missouri has lost one game to a team still ranked #10, and LSU lost to Kentucky, now unranked, and have won most of their SEC games by narrow margins.

And I think it's a bigger presumption than many realize that Oklahoma will beat Okla.St. and be in the Big 12 CG. Their QB may not play, or will not be as effective, and OSU is a good team on offense, and a good offensive team can find ways through OU's defense, as last SAT. Nevertheless, OU would still go that game unless they lose and Texas beats TxA&M, who beat them last year.

I say that about Mizzou and Kansas because neither one of them have the "big game" experience which can make a world of difference at times. Personally i would love to see LSU get Kansas since they are undefeated to this point; but i'm just not so sure it will happen as long as OU is still in the mix and would probably love to play the role of spoiler.
And...LSU also went 5-1 against ranked teams this year, with the lone loss being on the road. Kansas is only 1-0 against ranked teams (a now unranked K-State) and Mizzou is 2-1 (only OU is still ranked).

If Oklahoma wins the Big 12, I believe the voters will choose LSU and Ohio St. :)

Correction: OU must beat OSU to advance to the Big 12 CG; because if they lose to OSU, either Texas would go by beating TxA&M or else there would be a 3-way tie between UT, OU, and OSU, and UT would have the 3rd tie-breaker [compare records against the other divisional teams in sequence according to standings, which means since Texas beat the 4th place team, TxTech, and OU lost to them, and OSU beat them, which then makes it UT/OSU, and UT won that head-to-head matchup].

Sorry guys, but Ohio State has no business going to the BCS if WVU wins out. Their only loss was to a team that was ranked #2 in South Florida. They have beatened another ranked team in Cincinatti and more than likely will beat UCONN this Saturday (another ranked team).

    YES, I AM BIASED!!!!!!!

    GO MOUNTAINEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    LSU verses West Virginia

But I have a "hankering" that there'll be plenty of Ohio State "Cry babies" who'll believe "We deserve to be in New Orleans!!!!"

LSU has to slip by Darren McFadden first!!!:praying: But should find the Atlanta game against Georgia or Tennessee a "walk in the park":type:

I'm one of them. If OSU's loss to Illionois (a good team) had happened in week 2, we would be #1 or #2 right now.

South Florida had no business being ranked at all, let alone #2. That is the problem with the current system. OSU's loss was to a GOOD team (#18, but should be higher, IMO), but since it occured very late in the season, there is not much of a chance they will play for the championship.

That's because we [or actually the voters in the various polls] still have a playoff mentality even though there are no playoffs. You lose, you drop-- you keep on winning, you keep on going & gaining. The exception in recent years has been Oklahoma in 2003; even though they did drop out of the top 2 in the "human polls," the computer polls-- which had greater impact then, and did not take the time in the season of a loss into account-- still put them into the Championship Game.

But are you going to complain if the following happens?.... Whichever team wins in the Kansas/Missouri match loses to Oklahoma in the Big 12 CG, dropping both KS and MO, but OU is still no higher than #6, and Connecticut beats West Virginia, dropping WV, while LSU wins out... that is one of several scenarios that could still put OSU in the CG. And it would happen because of losses very late in the season to 3 other teams, while if the OSU/Illinois game were also this week, with the same result, it would really be a scramble. But if KS, MO, and WV do all lose this week, are you just going to say "tough luck," or are you going to say losing earlier than they did should give OSU the CG spot?

Well, I feel kind of good, being the only one who didn't vote for LSU to be involved in the Championship, but it's still a long ways from a Kansas/West Virginia matchup.

If WV and the winner of the KS/MO matchup takes care of business, they are "In Like Flint!", in any normal year.

This is not proving to be a normal year, by any means, however.

OSU is definitely in the mix, again, and only one strategic loss away from the Big Sleazy. Should WV fall and the Big-12 South winner knock off the KS/MO winner, it could even be the SEC winner, if GA or LSU, still play for the title or even VA Tech with a blowout win over VA, and an SEC & Big-12 blowup. I don't forsee USC climbing back into the mix, but they may well still be better than either or both "Title Game" participants.

So I'd say it's still entirely up in the air as to who goes to 'Nawlins', but I do look for "Mountaineers on Bourbon Street".

OK...i'm still hurting over the heart breaker last night. Looks like the Buckeyes have lucked out and may have found a trip to New Orleans in their lap.

Not yet. If Mizzou beats Oklahoma, they're in. West VA beats Pitt, they're in. If either falters, the media is in love with GA right now for some reason, but can you put a team in the title game that did not even get a chance to play for its conference title? If the Tigers and Mountaineers stumble, I think LSU is back in the hunt (BIG IF) they can beat Tennessee Saturday and win the SEC.

OU (University of Oklahoma) ranks 9 on the BCS poll.
We have already beaten the #1 BCS team: Missouri

    Go figure.
I guess beating OSU last Saturday wasn't as
    good as Missouri beating Kansas?

I figure we (OU) will stay #9 even even if we
beat Missouri on Sat, 1 Dec 2007. Missouri
is going to the bowl, OU ain't -- Missouri will drop
    to #8.

The left coast teams and the right coast teams
have it for us HEARTLAND folks :(
Paranoia isn't paranoia if THEY really are out to get you :(
