I just saw a documentary about the color blonde on TV and they also interviewed an evolutionary scientists and of course he offered theories why men are more attracted to blonde women and so on. I ask myself why that is. Is it because people connect certain characterists to the hair color blonde? They also said that even in Egypt rich women would color their hair blonde. Why did they do this? Is it simply because blonde is a rather rare hair color and people simply like everything which is rare? The evolutionist also said that most newborns have blonde hair which later on changes the color and that blonde hair is something like a key stimulus just like scheme of childlike characteristics. Since many men are more attracted to blonde women and directly react to the blonde hair color the evolutionists have to find an explanation for this kind of behavior and I think according to them blonde symbolizes fertility. Another person said that blonde symbolizes primitivity and that blonde women also have a different facial expression and gesture. But if blonde symbolizes primitivity then this doesn't make much sense in my opinion. A blonde woman is much further away from an ape than a black haired women with dark skin for example. When you look at it through evolutionary glasses then blonde people should symbolize advancement and not primitivity. Anyway, what do you think about this? Why is it that blonde hair is such a key stimulus?
