Why do we treat the survivors like they are stupid?

    Donna,

AGAIN - they HAD food, water, clothing, shelter at the time. And again, there are other needs beyond those.

And as to who I'm comparing myself to? No one. But I can tell you this - if you think "as long as we got them food and clothing that's enough" you wrong.

Please consider that even if we find housing for everyone and give them free rent for 3 months and they all have already started jobs that they have NO furniture, NO cars in many cases, NO diapers, toys, books, televisions, diapers, clothing, personal items.... I'm sure I'll be accused of patting myself on the back but I really don't care anymore.

    Here's a praise report!

I prayed for a car for Clothil and her boys. I sent out an email asking for one. A Muslim lady went to 'church' this weekend and a man gave her keys and the title to two vehicles. She went home and saw my plea on Freecycle. It took two days but she felt led to donate the car. It 'cuts out' so now we needed it fixed. A school principal called me and had set up with a shop in another town to do all the repairs for the cost of parts only and this principal has offered to pay for everything that needs to be done. Today she called and gave me an 8 passenger van for a larger family from New Orleans!

That's not patting yourself on the back, it's setting an example.
