Why does GOD give you a brain?

    God only condemns the lusts and pride we excercise from, not because we use our brains.

    If we only let our hearts speak to our brain we'd abstain from many sins, that is, with Jesus in the heart!

    Our hearts are still able to be misled and be deceived. Besides, there is a false dichotomy between the heart and mind. We are made by God as a body/mind/soul/(heart if you want to add that) unity -- in other words, emotional, mental, physical, spiritual unity.

    I think the idea of "heart" as something wonderful came about with the Victorians and is rather sentimental and schmaltzy.

    . For you to be blessed to accomplish being able once again to be in GOD'S service. I have a lot of respect for you and May GOD used you in his ministry and he keep giving you blessings after blessings. Hat's off!

    Not at all when one considers the depth of the mind: the heart of the individual is the very center esense of that person, most likened to the soul altogether.

    Why is this the essence? Can you support this statement?

    In the OT, I think the word translated as "heart" often means "mind" or the "whole person."
