Consider David, Jacob, Peter, ____ (fill in the blank, there are others).

What does this teach us? What does God want us to know through this, that although He chose to save us, some will make drastic mistakes and commit huge sins?

What's the big picture in all of this?

    - Peace

    A self-answered question, IMO.

God created mankind to solve the Angelic conflict. The conflict between Himself, satan and the fallen angels.

Angels were created first, they were created in perfection as man was, the Angels also had a volition, just as man does. Angels were created without the ability to be regenerated and can not be redeemed as man can.

Isaiah 14: 12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15 Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

We see satan was sentenced as well as the 1/3 of angels. He will be brought down to hell, so why hasn't he already been sent there? His sentence has been passed. God sentenced Him to the Lake of fire. So if sentence is passed what is the reason his sentence hasn't been carried out?

We see God's condemnation of Satan in.
Ezekial 28: 12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.

18 Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee.

19 All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never shalt thou be any more.

Verse 13, Who was in Eden Adam, Eve and Satan as a serpent who deceived Eve.

Verses 14 and 16 Who was the covering cherub? Satan of course

Verse 15 This os definitely talking about satan "he was perfect until iniquity was found in him. What iniquity was found in him pride.

Again back to the Isaiah passage it says he will be brought down to hell. He isn't there yet but his sentence has been pronounced.

Then in Matthew 25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

If it has been prepared why has the sentence not been carried out, why are they not already there, God must have a reason for this.

(Theory) So here is what is taught about this satan as an advocate (lawyer) has appealed his sentence. Challenging God as unfair, like some folks say today, How can a just and loving God cast his creatures into the Lake Of Fire?
Thus satan impunged the grace and righteousness of God. God could have immediately cast the offending angels into eternal punishment. but as we see from the Isaiah and Matthew passages He didn't. Why? God granted Satan and His angels an appealto denomstrate His grace and righteousness to the angels for all eternity. So God created man, gave him volition placed in man away to make a choice and the ability to be redeemed. Man as the agent for solving Satans appeal is given volition and given the right to choose for God's plan or against.

Do you have proof for this statement, or is this just theory?

Why does God save us when He knows we may "blow it" later?

    Just Because...

....He loves us in spite of ourselves! :godisgood: Besides, like I've always said, "God didn't make junk!" We are valuable in His eyes, as witnessed in the price He paid to redeem us!

    1 Corinthians 1:27 - But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;

Perhaps to show us that it is not our good behavior that earns his favor, but his own grace and forbearance with us.

I think if any of us, once saved, were to reach a level of spirituality that never struggled or fell, we would get very prideful about it and may be tempted to think that we did not need God.

2 Timothy 2:12-13 - If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us; If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.

The big picture is that this kind of grace is in His nature... For which I am thankful because my name fits in that blank. He wants us to experience His great grace and forgiveness and because He floods us with grace and forgiveness, we ought to flood others with that same grace and forgiveness.

One passage used is Zechariah 3: 1 And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him.
2 And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
    Psalms 8:3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:

Man was made lower than the angels and yet has given him dominon over the earth.

Job 2:1 Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.
2 And the LORD said unto Satan, From whence comest thou? And Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
3 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.

Luke 15: 7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

10Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

1 Corinthians 4: 9 For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.
So we are under the scrutiny of angels Satan accusing us and the Angels in heaven rejoicing over one sinner who is saved.

1 Corinthians 6:2Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

3Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Notice verse 3 we shall judge angels because we are saved satan and his angels are condemned. Even when we fall the ultimte is that we find Salvation in Jesus and are redeemed and God is proven just and fair because we as sinners are redeemed by Christ blood. Satan continues to battle God, he attacked the human line, he attacked the Jewish lineage, he attacked the babe born in Bethlehem, he tempted the Lord in the wilderness, he entered Judas heart and Christ was betrayed and crucified and satan thought he had won but only bruised the Sons heel but Christ conquered and satan now fights through false teaching and doctrine against the bride and Christ and will continue to fight until his condemnantion is fulfilled.

Why Does God Save Us When He Knows We Will "Blow It" At Times?

    Great question, Alcott.

I've wondered why the Lord selected me for salvation..., and I responded, all the while I've relatives not the slightest bit interested and will spend eternity in hell. Why did I respond while the next guy refused?

...ask me if I'm thankful He allowed me to accept.

Don't know why, but I'm thankful that "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9. Also like Psalm 51 for when we do "blow it". :godisgood:

If God condemned those of us who "blew it," he'd have to condemn everybody.

Then who would be around to sing his praises and give Him glory for his mercy and grace?

Reminds me of a story: A preacher was preaching away, and at a point in his message, he asked "All right, are any of you perfect? Do you know anybody who's perfect?"

Near the back, an old fellow tentatively raised his hand.

"You know somebody who is perfect? Tell everybody, who was it?"

Said the old fella, "My wife's late first husband."
