I was born in 1964, and have lived in the south most of my life, and have never seen black people hanging from trees, anyone who has has to be pretty old.
Theres no genunine excuse for doing wrong and wishing to hang someone, no matter what anyone says, God accepts no excuses. But now we have christians tells us He does.

There are a lot of blacks voting for him because he's black, they know nothing about what he stands for, nothing about how he's voted, nothng about what redistribution of wealth/socialism is and don't care either, nothing he says or does can possible change their minds, because he's black, this si racism.

    Donna,

So this discussion doesn't go too far south, there is no secret blacks hung from tree's like fruit in the deep south. No, I wasn't there and didn't witness it first hand but that is certainly a known fact that I can easily find proof on any civil rights website. However, if my bluntness offends you then I apologize. The facts are still the facts.

The point is what you are talking about is ancient history. As some have attempted to point out before, what is holding blacks (or poor whites, greys, yellows, greens, purples, and any of the other "colors" out there) out there is their own attitude, not the KKK or rich people.

I am deaf and have been ministering to the deaf for over 30 years now. There are many poor deaf folks out there in spite of the billions of dollars thrown at them through special education, jobs training, SSI, SSDI, and the like.

Now let me re-state that: I am deaf and have been ministering to the deaf for over 30 years now. There are many poor deaf folks out there BECAUSE OF the billions of dollars thrown at them through special education, jobs training, SSI, SSDI, and the like. They have gotten used to it- too easy to mooch off of the "rich folks" instead of go out and sweat and earn it honestly.

My daddy taught me, "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and feed him for a lifetime." Our government has gone from being the resource of last resort to being Daddy and Mommy.

I have NEVER been unemployed. I have had to work jobs that I did not even like- sometimes two or three of them at a time- to support my family. I guess you could say that I am too proud to NOT work. Unfotunately too many deaf, hearing, black, white, etc. people do not see it that way.

It was the latent racism of the democrat party that put them there.

The only real difference is how small and poor the KKK nutband is and how large and rich the democrat party is.

Bottom line is that you have based your regional prejudices on events of the distant past as if nothing has changed; a form of racism in and of itself.

That statement is either an outright falsehood or you are delusional!

    All,

I just googled "black hangings in south" and this is the first article that came up. There are pages and pages of similar stories.

    http://www.southernstudies.org/facingsouth/2007/07/black-nooses-hanging-from-white-tree.asp

This is from the second link dated 2004...

    http://www.hartford-hwp.com/archives/45a/613.html

Again, I know it's gotten better and is not a prevalent as it once was but I think it's not accurate to say it no longer happens.

And yes, I do remember growing up seeing these stories so frequently on the news that we formed the analogy blacks hung like fruit from the trees. Perhaps it's no longer news in the south so the media don't carry the stories???

It makes a big difference just where in the south you're talking about. I grew up in KY. and lived in NC and Ala. Louisville, Ky was actually the first large city to desegregate its schools. In college in NC I heard people driving down the road and throwing full beer cans at blacks. In general though, NC is pretty progressive. SC is another matter. Northern Ala was MUCH different than Southern ALA which was real Wallace country and dangerous to blacks. So. GA and Miss were pretty much the same thins as was Arkansas.

If you want to count, Google "Black man shoots white man" and see how many of those pop up. I guess that never happens, huh?

It isn't a skin problem, it's a SIN problem. And neither McCain or Obama can solve that problem.

You know what is funny, well interesting, of the people I know fairly well, I don't know of 10 people that I wouldn't classify as at least somewhat racist. This is true of the black and white people I know. And I would say probably only 10% or so (probably less) would admit it.

Something else to think about.......The most segregated day of the week.........SUNDAY!
