Biblical marriage is under attack because the CHURCH has not honored the God-ordained covenant. As the Church goes, so goes the nation.

There have been 50,000,000 abortions because the CHURCH has not valued life. As the Church goes, so goes the nation.

Why is sex outside of marriage the new norm? Because the same thing goes on in the CHURCH. As the Church goes, so goes the nation.

Why has modesty in dress disappeared? Because it's disappeared in the CHURCH. As the Church goes, so goes the nation.

Why are there so many fatherless homes? Because there are so many fathers absent in the CHURCH. As the Church goes, so goes the nation.

Why can't you find too many family friendly movies? Because the CHURCH is watching the same filth as the world so there's no need to differentiate. As the Church goes, so goes the nation.

Why are there so many alcoholics? Because the CHURCH drinks. As the Church goes, so goes the nation.

Why are there so many worshiping false gods? Because the CHURCH has set up false gods. As the Church goes, so goes the nation.

Why is the economy in the tank? Because the CHURCH is stealing from God. As the Church goes, so goes the nation.

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chr. 7:14

The nation...our world ...is where it is right now because of CHRISTIAN wickedness and our refusal to humble ourselves and turn from it just because we believe our sacrifice is better than obedience.:(

Please give us your definition of the "the Church"
Please give us your definition of modesty ?
The Church drinks? In you guessmation - how much is too much or do you believe the Bible teaches it is a sin to even have just one drink?

Now for a real hard question Zac -why do you have nothing listed in your profile?

Why is the Country Morally and Economically in the Toilet?

Because for the last 100, and especially the last 50 years, Christians have allowed it to happen. It's history repeating itself, as the Hebrews did the same thing and we didn't learn from their mistakes. The only thing we don't know is whether our failures will be just another chapter in history or the final chapter.

Whatever "church" you're talking about it's not the church of Jesus Christ. I'll take His word over any one else's any day.

and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.

    I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;

Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth, to which He called you by our gospel, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle. Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself, and our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace, [comfort your hearts and establish you in every good word and work.

2 Chronicles 7 has nothing to do with the USA or christians. Read the context.

Then the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: "I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place. For now I have chosen and sanctified this house, that My name may be there forever; and My eyes and My heart will be there perpetually. As for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked, and do according to all that I have commanded you, and if you keep My statutes and My judgments, then I will establish the throne of your kingdom, as I covenanted with David your father, saying, 'You shall not fail to have a man as ruler in Israel.'

So why aren't you humbling yourself? You said "our". That would include you.

Since when is the church to have anything to do with the government other than to pray for our leaders?? I'm tired of being blamed for the problems in Washington.
We in the church are to be faithful to God and love one another. Where does the bible teach that NT Christians are to run the government?

No one blamed the Church for the problems in Washington. The culture in Washington and what they think to be important is a reflection of what we have not made important..

The Church is overrun with milly mouth pastors preaching a watered down Gospel and a bunch of goats have become the voice that's heard of the "Church".

    No one said that.

There are many signs of this, but one of the most recent is the two nominees for President, and every other nominee for the last at least 20 years.

Really? If there are so many true Christians in the USA, how could Roe vs. Wade have ever become law, or 50 million babies have been aborted since?

The only thing keeping the United Methodists from going the way of the mainline Presbyterians and Episcopalians is because of the members in the South and because the UMC General Conference includes delegates from Africa!

If there are so many true Christians in the USA, why is vulgarity on TV on the increase and immodesty in dress growing? Why have the public schools turned into sewers?

American Christianity is a cultural Christianity. Many, as the Quakers used to say, do not possess what they profess.

Very true. With 80+% of Americans claiming to be Christians, there will unfortunately a lot of folks going to hell. Makes me think about that quote Billy Graham once made about the majority of the church being lost.

Perhaps the "church" looks like the world because the goats have taken over and are running things.

Just to be clear, it's the churches fault we have problems morally and economically right?

    What a bunch of hogwash.

The USA has always had moral problems, today is no different.

We have economic problems because we are not following basic economic rules. You can't spend money you don't have. Until the "borrow and spend" mindset changes, we will continue to have economic problems.

The church bashing, which in my opinion is what the OP is, reveals a lack of faith in the church and an elevated nationalistic sense inconsistent with Biblical Christianity.

If the USA is 80% Christian, why is the US a cultural sewer?

Compare morals in this country today with the morals of 50 years ago, and you still say today is no different? Please!

The Church isn't making anyone be lacking morally nor is it actively setting out to ruin the country economically. But a lack of holiness lived out in the Church directly affects the morals of the country. Same thing with the country's economics.

I'm sure folks said the same thing about Sodom and Gomorrah. They no doubt said the same thing to Noah about the world back then too.

You know the Holy Spirit is a restraining force for evil. When the Church is living disobediently instead of letting the Holy Spirit that indwells each member to have its way, evil thrives.

And when you get everybody, even those in the Church, doing what is right in his own eyes, the results are where we are right now.

My faith is in Jesus Christ. The TRUE Church is gonna obey. But there are a lot of folks who are the "face of the Church" in name only who aren't.

The people of the US put the people who run the government into office. If the majority of the voters in the US are "Christians", then Christians have been putting these folks into office.

Folks who throw sound/basic economic principles out of the window in order to gain whatever is on their personal agenda.

Apparently, from the results we see today, the majority of Christians also are:

Folks who stayed silent when prayer was taken out of the schools.

Folks who stayed silent when abortion became legal.

Folks who stayed silent when "democracy" and "entitlement" became the watchwords of this country.

Folks who stayed silent when states rights were sold for federal dollars.

Folks who stayed silent when income became taxable.

Folks who stayed silent when government run healthcare became a "right".

Folks who stayed silent when decent TV/movies were replaced with porn.

Folks who stayed silent when hard news became editorial commentary disguised as news.

Folks who stayed silent when lewd behavior on the streets became acceptable.

Folks who stayed silent when schools began sexual orientation classes for kindergarden.

Folks who stayed silent when election fraud was revealed and then ignored.

Folks who stayed silent when corrupt politicians receive a slap on the wrist for wrong doing.

Folks who stayed silent when an upside down cross in a jar of urine is "art" but a stone carving of the 10 Commandments must not be displayed.

Folks who stayed silent when being "politically correct" became more important than being biblically correct.

We The People are the government. Those in governmental buildings in local, state, and federal locations were sent there by us. People who assemble every Sunday across this land in "church" are responsible for this state of affairs. Myself included. I was too busy with my own life, so I stayed silent when it became OK to kill babies in the womb. I fell for the separation of church and state indroctionation because I didn't study the Constitution. Thus, stayed silent when prayer was removed from schools.

I accept full responsbility for my "silence" between prayers and votes thinking that was the only thing required of me. I failed to do my part to tear down the idols in high places. Someday I'll have to answer for that, when I stand in judgement before our Saviour.

This appears to be an expansion of your usual rhetoric. Please help me to understand. Are you saying that the lack of the church to practice sound economic principles is causing the ruin of the United States economy?

Oh now it's the "face of the church" you're concerned about?! Which face would that be?

I'm too busy with the local church to worry about the face of the church, whatever that is.
