    Why Obamanomics Has Failed

Uncertainty about future taxes and regulations is enemy No. 1 of economic growth.

    By ALLAN H. MELTZER

The administration's stimulus program has failed. Growth is slow and unemployment remains high. The president, his friends and advisers talk endlessly about the circumstances they inherited as a way of avoiding responsibility for the 18 months for which they are responsible.

But they want new stimulus measures—which is convincing evidence that they too recognize that the earlier measures failed. And so the U.S. was odd-man out at the G-20 meeting over the weekend, continuing to call for more government spending in the face of European resistance.

The contrast with President Reagan's antirecession and pro-growth measures in 1981 is striking. Reagan reduced marginal and corporate tax rates and slowed the growth of nondefense spending. Recovery began about a year later. After 18 months, the economy grew more than 9% and it continued to expand above trend rates.

People claimed this man was a leader...... but elected him w/o proof.
People claimed this man was accomplished.... but elected him w/o proof.
People claimed this man was a Christian.... but Christian is more than a name..... and people elected him w/o proof.
We (caveat..... those who voted for him) elected a man based solely upon the reports of others..... w/o proof and w/o considering the sources and their motives and their connections.

A puppet in the highest office can only accomplish the desires of his puppeteers. He is no leader. He says what they want us to hear.... and 'they' lead with a lie. It is partisan although the opposing party has the same problem with this poison in it controlling many who are elected. As long as the separate powers of the Congress, the Judicial and the Executive consent in concert to this symphony, he will continue to be the public target of abuse, criticism, and his failures while the people pulling the strings are laughing at the lies they've pull off and the power they've gain..... because the American people are ignorant and apathetic. .......And they're right! We've been too lazy, accepting the words of the 'experts' and the 'famous' w/o observing for ourselves, sharing with others our observations.... or cutting down those who are more cautious and concerned and particular before jumping to support every tom, dick, and harry w/o a track record or a backbone of proof.

    Why Obamanomics has failed?

It's the same old Keynesian economics repackaged--the idea that spending (of any kind), rather than capital formation through saving--leads to prosperity. Presidents from both parties have advocated this type of policy, even George W. Bush.
