The question is "How does God feel about homosexuality"?

Well, I think God put an exclammation mark in history about the way He felt about it. It is called Sodom and Gommorah.

Many parts of the church are becoming too lenient with regard to homosexuality. God wants people to turn from it because it is an abomination and destructive to their soul. The church should oppose homosexuality as a lifestyle and should not condone or tolerate any form of it and that also means so-called gay civil unions( of which Bush supported and is more example of the "integrity" of Mr. Credibility). Christians should wholly accept all those who are willing to turn from and renounce it as sinful and the love of Christ in the church should show no prejudice against those who have turned from it. The church should be especially diligent on this issue as there is an effort to make homosexuality "more" acceptable in a growing number of denominations and it should not let pass during this time of the catholic priest abuse issue to take an even firmer stand against homosexuality.

Who said anything about celebrating sin??? That is rediculous! I've never said any such thing!

What I want to celebrate is a human life. A child of God. Now, I don't know if that lifestyle is a chosen path or not, I don't think so. Who would want that kind of persecution?? But I'll never, ever say I am better than a homosexual either. We all sin and fall short of the glory of God. If you break one commandment, you may as well have broken them all. We all need the compassion of our brothers and sisters! It's not fair to pick and choose.
</font>
I'm certainly not saying that I'm better than homosexuals. We are all sinners.

What I am saying is that I do not in any shape, fashoin or form, condone Homosexual Marriage, Homosexual activity, or the Homosexual lifestyle.

I am opposed to it, Period.
I believe it is Sin, Period.
I believe it is unnatural behavior, period.
I will vote against Homosexual Marriage anytime it's on the ballot.

That is my belief about the matter as a Christian and that is my right under the Constitution of the United States.
</font>
That is certainly your perogative. I choose not to vote at all in such matters. It is none of my concern. I am not a homosexual and I believe as you do that it is sin, but they have every right to a civil union if that is what they want. They have the right to sin, as do all sinners. God gave that right to them and none of us can take that away... that is what we are here for. If God had wanted to impose his laws on everyone, he would have. And we would all be in heaven instead of here on Earth.

Those people are still going to live together as spouses, regardless. Live with it.
</font>
Fine, but I don't have to like it, approve it or vote for it.

BTW, they can have everything they want through the legal system we already have. A Power of attorney, A Will, Joint Property Ownership. All they need is an attorney, not some license or certificate from the state.
</font>
They don't get the same tax deals, do they? They cannot file taxes jointly, nor can they get on on another's health insurance (in most states).
</font>
Nor should they be able to file taxes jointly. They are not married.

BTW have you not heard of the Marriage Penalty that exists in IRS Tax Code?

Not should they be able to have health insurance. That does hurt the rest of us because it causes our health insurance rates to go up.

BTW some corporations that have bent over backwards to offer health coverage for gay partners have not offered the same coverage for heterosexual partners. That is what is blatantly unfair!

</font>
WHAT??? Unmarried heterosexual 'couples', I assume you mean 'couples' here, are fornicators! Why would you wish something for them and not for homosexuals?

Adding a homosexual partner does not increase your health benefit. I don't see how you figure that! A company either pays for the whole deal outright or they take the premium from the employees pay.

I guess you haven't kept up on the current tax bills. They are being changed to make it more beneficial for people to be married, as part of the whole 'family values' deal.

So TisHerself you admit Bush did a good think when he lowered the marriage penalty?

Yes, I do. Just like the Devil himself... mixing lies with truth to keep us off guard!

;)

I give credit where credit is due. I don't hate Bush! I pray for him every night. I don't hate all Right Wing Nutjobs either;) My oldest son is one! hehe! I just call 'em like I see 'em. And I feel Lord led to do so.

HAHAHAHAHA! Bless you brother! We have learned from each other, actually, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I don't consider myself a liberal in the strict sense. Just a loving and unique soul currently having a human experience because God wanted it that way to see how I would handle it:)

Don't worry, TH, my dad is a Democrat, even though he voted for President Bush this last round. (He got tired of me arguing with him about it, so he caved. [IMG] )

My grandmother went with me to vote as well. She voted for Bush last year too. It was the first time she had voted since FDR was running. She had been a lifelong Democrat supporter.

My grandmother's sister, Aunt Opal, was a lifelong Democrat, but she couldn't stand President Bush. She would not vote though because she refused to vote for a Republican and she wouldn't vote for, in her words, "a baby killer" (meaning the Democrats). We had many a good argument before she died last year. I still miss doing that with her. [IMG]

We should cherish the time we have with one another, even in our arguments.

You are so right, Bro. James Reed! And I do cherish you:)

I had a great Aunt Opal... family is important. Edited to say... our family in God is very important as well!

Posting Rule # 2: Topics and/or posts that would condone racism, every form of greed, selfishness, and vice, and all forms of sexual immorality, including but not limited to adultery, homosexuality, and pornography are strictly prohibited.

This thread has gone on long enough. Romans Chapter One makes it perfectly clear how God views homosexuality. It is a clear violation of Baptist Board posting rules to promote sexual immorality, including gay marriage. End of debate.
