Yeah, and let Barney Frank & Chris Dodd walk. We cannot punish people who broke laws under Bush, we have to punish Bush for his failure to prevent those crimes.

And it is time for the dems to do the same and for your condemnation to reach their direction as well.

Still waiting for the Clinton Machine to take ownership of the mess they created with the mortgage industry in 1999. You agree?

I wonder...will Obama get 4 (8?) years of a free pass, since this is "all Bush's fault?"

I still don't understand how going further in debt improves one's financial standing. It always worked the opposite for me.

since the topic is the deficit and obamas opinion of it, then the topic is not bush. seems simple now doesn't it, should have explained it better the first time.

How can you possibly leave President Bush out a discussion on the deficit that grew during his watch!?!?!

No I don't. I agree that the idea of subprime loans originated during the Clinton administration. However, by far the largest number of these loans originated during the Bush administration. So did the horrific practice of bundlling these failing loans into derivatives. Most of the damage was done on Bush's watch.

Then why did YOU mention Bush. You were off topic on your own thread. (Is that possible? I suppose it is because we have proof.)

But you didn't. You, the author of the OP mentioned Bush and Obama in the OP. You made the topic about Bush, Obama, and the resulting defecit.

as stated in the op, this is the topic of this thread, and several have successfully taken this thread off topic. does every topic you disagree with have to become a game to you.
I don't know how much more simplier I can make it then to keep reposting the topic for those who don't know what it is.

You left something out in your quote of the OP

You left the topic open. Therefore posts on both Bush and Obama are on topic.

Now, to the topic of the thread. President Bush clearly did not worry the slightest about the deficit. He increased spending all out of proportion. President elect Obama says that he will have to take soem drastic measures to fix ti, so in the meantime Americans should not worry themselves into a depression. Whether I agree or not, he never said anything about ignoring the deficit.

You are correct, sort of like the liberals Bush, McCain, and Paulson who were instrumental in cramming down a 700 billion, no 850 billion after the pork to win votes, down the throats of the American people. Government intervention in a free market is the first sure sign of a liberal. What makes it worse that liberal is that 300 billion is already gone because of the places the money was targeted. It is too bad when people in high positions are way above their heads and have no idea what they are doing. That 300 billion might as well have been set on fire live on TV for all to watch.

...and I suppose the other 2/3 of our gov't (democratically controlled) had nothing to do with that
