Why are Senators McCain, Obama, and Clinton allowed to run for President while still collecting a paycheck from the Senate? Seems to me that is stealing. They are being paid for a job they are not doing. Usually people get fired for taking pay they have not earned. Maybe we need to fire McCain, Obama, and Clinton from the Senate. None of them are honest if they are taking pay checks for work they are not doing. Period.

The reason they are allowed to run for any office at all is that americans are so uninformed about everything they let the political and corporate class (fascisitic global elite) do all their thinking for them. If americans were ever to wake up enmass to the dirt that's been done to them by these parasitical elites and their loyal minnions they'd run them all out of the country on a rail.

The bread, games and fearmongering has made us all stupid.

Senators today are paid to take money from people who earn it, and give it to people who don't.

Since all three plan on continuing this, they can keep getting paid. If, at any point, they reneg on this agreement, they must forfeit their pay.

I don't see the problem. If there was an important vote, they could still fly in to cast it.

IMO, that's like me saying, "Oh, no problem if I'm not at my job. If there's an important meeting, I'll try and get there."

They're not doing what we've paid them to do. That goes for all three.

The problem is that we, the American people, are paying them full-time salaries when they are not doing their full-time job. If we tried that we would get fired. Why should we, their employers, allow them to do it? If they only fly in from time to time then they should only be paid for flying in from time to time.

These candidates are so very dishonest.

==Political corruption, and make no mistake about it all three of these candidates are corrupt, is at the heart of most of our nation's problems.

This doesn't just apply to these three. Going back over 200 years there must have been more than 200. Other candidates have been primarily governors and mayors of major cities. Both of these groups would create the same problem. I agree that it's not ideal but it would be difficult to run a democracy (actually republic) without candidates for office.

I am sorry but, I think you are being a little naive, it is not like they are punching a clock. They have a responsibility to represent the people of their state. They have a staff to keep them advised of anything pressing. I am sure they are briefed daily, and are given reports of anything important. They are decision makers, not staff workers. Especially in this day and age of conference calling, and text messaging, I am sure they are not out of the loop at all. If anything they might be more up to date as to be able to look for any new issue that can be "exploited", oops I mean used  to their advantage in their campaign.

So if that's the case, why do we send any of our senators to Washington?

    No naivete here.

There are many things that we as citizens should feel short changed about when it comes to our government and elected officials. Most certainly many issues that we would be justified in being upset about. I just think this is not one of them, and such a minor issue that it pales in comparison to those that are important.

Right. I would add a dumbed down population who are scared beyond reason by an "outside threat" that are easy prey for a corrupt state is a really big problem too.

Nobody seems to want to talk much about it though.

Sorry to spoil everyone's fun with a question, but can governors and other politicians run for president while still in their existing positions?

I'm just thinking that if they don't win, the people who voted them into their existing positions would likely want them to continue their role. If they do win, it would likely give a better voice to the issues important to those who voted them in to their existing position.

Like it or not, they are still senators and as senators they receive a salary. When you are looking for a new job do you expect your present employer to stop paying you?
