No, Iran will not become a super power, even if Iran desires to have and actually does produce nuclear weapons.

France has nuclear weapons but it is not a super power.

The obvious difference is that the French are a bunch of sissy pacifists. The Iranians are not.

Israel is commited to stop Iran

    I agreee with Ken H.
Israel is will take on Iran alone if it has to to prevent it from becoming a nuclear threat to the region.

    WHEW

doesn't seem to be a good way out of this . . . I just hope they don't take out 10 to 1 civilians to combatants if they take out the reactor complex.

Like those two American reporters who converted to Islam at gunpoint!

Many Jews and true Christians died than rather bow the knee to another god.

Get my point, people are people, it's not about calling people names.

France tries to be a peace keeper, and blessed are they...

Iran is asking for trouble in my view!

    Edit....

The words of Jesus just came to mind about will not someone weigh up a war situation before they take the offensive, wether they have the strength to win, Iran obviously could not! All they would achieve is another Iraq, misery and untold suffering.

One of them was American, the other from New Zealand.

The French Govt wants to be major league player without actually having to take major league risk. IMO.

It is interesting to me how it was the French who surrendered to Hitler and it was America who liberated them and brought them peace. They didn't do so through pacifism. They did so through fighting a war. Weren't the French the ones who were stockpiling weapons for Saddam and the terrorists there...I guess they were just trying to keep the peace against the evil imperialist Americans, right? Weren't the French the ones involved in the oil for food scandal? Peacekeeper or enablers of tyranny? Weren't the French the ones who allowed an Islamic uprising to continue for about a week or more before putting it to an end? Weren't the French the ones who promised to send thousands of troops to Lebanon to keep the peace against Hezbollah in exchange for a cease fire and then chickened out? Peacekeeper or sissy pacifists who don't keep their word? Certainly, America is not perfect. But I am starting to see a much bigger pattern forming there in France than I ever did in America. When the tough gets going, America stands up and at least tries to confront evil. In France, they either surrender, support or enable evil, or they simply chicken out.

Can of worms... lots of Americans and their soldiers are having a go at Rumsfield etc etc and the handling of things, whats wrong with the French government not wanting to send its troops to a slaughter. Peace does not want war, true democracy.

I do not want anyone dead, you die without Christ and without the Grace of God, your lost... man, its forever! All fall short of the Glory of God!

Actually, a good question is, are people saved because of a cause?

I don't think so! That's why the Gospel is more important than world politics or affairs.

I agree with your thoughts on hypocrisy... but what is new and what do you expect from non Christian rule, in the truest sense I mean.

I was waiting for the ww2 thing, what about turning the other cheek or suffering injustice, cowardice is not the question or ever should be, what is going on is world politics and not Christianity.

We can all pick holes in a governments behaviour, especially America, it should not be the issue.

Not that many soldiers are having a go at Rumsfeld, though there are a few. It is mostly coming from the usual suspects, and the press, who like to play up that kind of thing.
I don't question the French goverment's reluctance to send troops to Iraq. That is their perogative. Their position though, has been to thwart the US at every opportunity, and in every way. They want to throw their weight around without actually having anything behind it.
Of course no one is saved by a cause. But this is the politics forum isn't it?

Nice reply, what would you do? Also if it is a politics forum in a worldly sense why should Christian ethics enter into it. Myself, from a military background would just invade, conquer and rule, read up on Alexander the Great, also Persian military operations. They were pretty ruthless, much more than todays operations. And they suceeded, its the half-heartedness of todays military operations that cause problems, caused I think by the power of modern day opinion and influence.

That is true, many Americans will continue to pay the ultimate price in eternity for protecting the world from tyranny.

No one goes to Hell for protecting the world from tyranny. If that was the case, then a Christian could not serve in the military nor could a Christian even pay taxes to provide funds for the military without going to Hell.

Actually, I think what I was trying to say was that some soldiers are not saved. . . and when they die protecting the world, their destination was Hell . . .

All saved soldiers die and go to Heaven.

    God just sorts them out.
