Saw this on FB - money seized from the adult children of parents who died, but owed money to the IRS years ago. The story in the link is about a woman whose tax return was seized for what the IRS claims was a social security overpayment to "someone" in her family. In 1977.
Apparently, something new was written in that allows them to collect these old debts, and they're doing it by going after the children of those that owed.

The lady two senators running a bill through to stop this however they are only protecting those that were children when the debt was made, in other words if you were 18 when the debt was made you can be billed.

They took the money before they informed the lady which also ticked her, a government employee, off.
