Since I've never owned a Ford and have never given much thought to buying a Ford it would be kind of hard for me to boycott Ford. [IMG]

My guess is that many Americans are in the same boat as you which kind of made this boycott kind of silly. It is hard to boycott something you would never normally buy anyway. [IMG]

My driveway has been a veritable Ford dealers paradise.

    I have owned a '65 Mustang, an '01 Cougar, an '01 Mustang, and now an '02 F-150.

Mother has had a '66 Lincoln, a '79 Lincoln, an '84 Ford van, an '85 Lincoln, an '89 Lincoln, a '97 Lincoln, a '98 Lincoln, an '01 Lincoln, and now an '04 Lincoln.

    Dad has had a '61 Thunderbird, an '81 Ford van, an '89 F-250, a '95 F-350, and now a '99 F-350.

Plain and simple, we are Ford people. I very much doubt that this boycott will change anything with any of my family.

We drive what works, and Ford makes a good automobile.

In fact, I can remember only 2 non-Ford vehicles used by my family in the last 25 years.

One was a '95 Buick Roadmaster that my uncle gave to us. The other was a '66 Impala SS that I had, until T.S. Allison hit Houston in '01. (Of course, the Impala doesn't really count because Chevy actually made a decent car back then. :D )

When I was a kid, we had a '65 Chev. Impala station wagon and '69 Impala 4-door sedan. They were both lemons. But my dad was really an old Ford man who was finagled into those deals by the costs, and he later went back to Fords.

I have owned one Chrysler, one Chevrolet, and one Ford, and all 3 were costly junkers. But my last 2 cars have been Hyundais, and they have been far superior to those first 3. My current one has 132,000 miles and is still very sound mechanically.

But having said all that, I am not an advocate of claiming one make as 'mine' exlusively then dissing all the others. Y'all who do that are letting the automaker and the image they promulgate brainwash you.

We've owned 2 Chevies in 10 years, a 1988 Monte Carlo SS that I adored, and a 1984 Cavalier wagon. Both of them lasted well over 100k, but they were both fairly expensive to maintain, especially the Monte Carlo.

We owned an Eagle Vision for a couple of years which had, as you would expect from a Chrysler product, transmission problems.

We've had 4 Fords, 2 Windstars and 2 Tauruses, and they've all been great cars. We would still be driving our "original" Fords, but traded our first Windstar for one that had 2 sliding doors, and our first Taurus had to be put down after I went deer hunting with it and bagged a couple.

    First
    On
    Race
    Day

    Mostly
    Old
    Parts
    And
    Rust

    :D

I have to confess, those late 1960 - early 1970 Mustangs are pretty sweet! [IMG]

Someone told me that FORD stands for:

    Homosexual Operated Road Device

    I believe it stands for

First On Race Day or Fastest Oval in Racing Dude

I had an '88 Mercury Sable that was a piece of junk nothing but problems! When it caught fire and blew up in 1994, I swore of Ford Products for ever!
I bought a Dodge Dakota. Good truck but I wrecked it. It lost a fight with a Peterbilt.

In 1996 I was offered a great deal on new Ford F-150. I was leary but it was to good of deal to pass up! Best truck or vehicle I have ever owned!
It has over 180,000 miles on it. Only real trouble I have ever had with it is that I had to replace the clutch at 136,000 miles.
I am now a Ford Man! My wife also drives a Ford, an Escort '97 Model. Great little car! It has aproxamently 110,000 miles. I have no intention of replacing either of them any time soon. But when I do, I will by Fords.

I Believe Ford is wrong in their homesexual polocies. But I personaly don't Like Boycotts, they have liitle effect on the CEO's who make policy decesions but hurt the hard working person on the assembly line who needs to feed his family. If a boycott is sucseesful this is the kind of person who is laid off and is hurt by the boycott.

As for the list menitoned in a preceding post: I have NO problem boycotting the Miller Brewing Co. [IMG]

When I buy my next car, I might consider buying a hybrid, which won't mean a total boycott, but they certainly will be getting a lot less of my money. [IMG]

My Gosh - People STILL BUY FORD?

I feel a little twinge in my heart

Im proud of you all for buying American substandard automobiles.

Good for you for supporting your countries inferior product - Toyota or Saturn for me and my relatives - although my grandmother still drives a Ford - looks good - piece of garbage

I drive a Toyota. Saturn is an American product, based in Tennessee. [IMG]

I haven't driven a Ford since High School when I drove my parent's 78 Ford LTD. That car lasted until about 2001. You do the math...seems like a pretty good car to me. But, I will concede that it has been a long time since they have made a good car.

We are a Ford family and proud of it! Different strokes for different folks...

KRAFT is the company to be boycotting right now. They are sponsoring "The Gay Games" in Chicago this year.
