Boy! That's the truth. We had a Belkin for a long time and got a D-link. I'm not tech illiterate, but I sure did feel like a dummy dealing with it. After getting no where with it or the tech help, we boxed it back up and took it back. We bought a linksys which was a ton easier to deal with. Didn't even have to call tech support.

I wanted to thank everyone for the suggestions. I ended up buying a lynksys router instead, and no problems! It must have been the stupid free d-link that came with my notebook.

I purchased the same dlink router memtioned in the opening post. I had to RMA the first one because I couldn't keep an internet connection stable at all. Once I got the replacement I could connect to the network and the internet with my wired connection, but my wireless connection would connect to the network and not the internet.

Dlink tech support is a pain, but most tech support is. I finally played around with it myself and upgraded the firmware. The firmware upgrade fixed my problem and so far the 2nd router is working GREAT!

I'm glad you had better luck than me, I tried the firmware upgrade, and it wouldn't take. My old D-Link does make a great cupholder, though...

    Don't give up on D-link.
    I've got a DI-624 D-link router.
After some initial difficulties with the network, I've never had problems since.
Good solid service even out in my backyard.

I do see cable trucks pulling up outside my house once in a while trying to break in to my encrypted FiOS service but they drive away after a few minutes after vainly trying (I hope!).
