If it is against God's word (which prositution is) then she is too listen to God. However if it is not she should as too win her husband or encourage him in the Lord. Because that is who she is to be obey. And when she does no matter what the circumstances are she glorfies God. Now I am not saying it is all black and white but I find most women find ways to not make the husband the head of the household. Try to find reasons why they should not have too. It is repulsive to the flesh to have to submitt to any authority.

And its repulsive to the flesh for the husband to sacrificially love his wife.

Yes, agreed. Although I find it is in a man's nature to want to protect and provide for his wife (and family). I guess I have strayed from my main pt. That regardless how the other acts we are too fulfill our roles as taught in the Bible.

I'm speaking, quite clearly, of the lack of attitude of submission Donna. We have 4 pages of lively discussion and you chose MY remarks to address.
This seems to be a pattern! ................... [IMG]

    ...................... [IMG]
</font>[/QUOTE]Since I haven't been a part of this topic I can't see a 'pattern' happening here that includes me.
I don't see how the examples you gave show a lack of attitude of submission. Driving? Making more money? Education? Dad's spending time with their children?
Not to mention I don't see in your quote where you said anything about attitudes of submission. If a woman drives she doesn't have an attitude of submission, if she has an education she doesn't have a an attitude of submission? If she makes more moeny then her husband then she doesn't have an attitude of submision? If the father spends time with his children then his wife doesn't have an attitude of submission? Prehaps you could tie all this together becasue I don't see it.

    Tim,

Agreed! We do better when we focus on our own responsibilities. [IMG]

But When the topic comes up and is being discussed then what is true is true. Regardless if a male says it about a female or visa versa.

In General... We spend so much time claiming the other party isn't living up to what the Bible tells them to do when we need to only worry about what the Bible tells us WE need to do.

MY BIBLE says I am to submit to my husband as long as his requests do not conflict with what scripture tells me is God's rules.

    Psalms 143:8
Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.

amen Diane, I think another part is we tend to think some things biblical are not fair. We are called to suffer for Christ's sake.

    diane,

That was my point to Tim.

I need to love my wife sacrificially regardless.

She needs to show respect (submission) regardless.

The truth is, sometimes, I need to say to her, "We're not doing that."

But just today, she had to tell me, "We're not doing that." And she was right!

That's what marriages are like. Each partner keeping the other from doing something stupid! [IMG]

Pardon me for jumping in---after such a lengthly discussion, but----

Have these following verses been discussed yet??

"Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; while they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. Whose adorning, let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of appearal; But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptable, even the ordnament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him Lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement."--1Peter 3:1-6

Even as Sara obeyed Abraham, calling him Lord.

You see---The Lord God commands that the marriage relation between husband and wife "mirror" that of the relation between God the Father and God the Son!!! The Son obeyed in every aspect always! The Father "highly exalted" the Son----there's not a place in Heaven higher than the place that the Father has given the Son!!! As the Son submitted to the Father-----wives . . .!! As the Father "highly exalted" the Son---Husbands . . .!!

"Hello?? Hello??? Don't hang up on me, Ladies!!!"

I believe in the equality of the sexes---when that equality lines up with the word of truth from the Word of Truth!!!

And on the lighter side----if your church is searching for a Pastor---and you have "boiled" your list down to two prospectives---#1 being Sir Blackbird and #2 being Sister Qutie-Pie---and you give the "job" to Sister Qutie Pie----just please don't tell nobody that Sir Blackbird was your second choice!!! OK??????? [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]
