On another thread the website of "Wolves in Sheep Clothing" was referenced.

A paragraph near the end of the site states:

"Christianity began as a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. When it went to Athens, it became a philosophy. When it went to Rome, it became an organization. When it spread throughout Europe, it became a culture. When it came to America, it became a business!"
I believe there is much truth in the above statement - but as you look at the entire site, it appears that he believes he is the only one with the actual truth.

My first problem is that I have no ideal who authored this page, unless I missed it somewhere.

It appears that the website is by a group headed by Texe Marrs. His organization is an "internet church" what ever that is.

Looks like another site to show who's wrong, instead of focusing on what's right.

On one of the pages of the website, the owner identifies himself as David J. Stewart. He at one time was a member of Jack Hyles' FBC Hammond, Indiana. He considers Hyles one of the heroes of the faith.

It appears the website was appropriately named as it is a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Here is what the home page said about your charge......

Please understand that I don't condemn anyone, for the Bible condemns all of us as guilty, dirty, rotten, hell-deserving sinners. My salvation solely rests in Christ's righteousness, because of the precious blood that He gave for our sins. My intention is not to be unkind; but rather—to expose unbiblical teachings, false prophets and lies that lead people away from God and into Hell forever. The issue is not about the false teachers personally; but rather, about the heresies they publicly promote, teach and attempt to legitimatize. Exposing false ministers is the right thing to do, and the only way to do so is by shining the Light of God's inspired Word upon their teachings.

Exposing error, is the right thing to do.

Texe Marrs is a kooky conspiracy theorist. I'd ignore anything he says.

Why? And is that what it says in the Word? Or are we to speak the truth in love, and preach the gospel, in season and out? Not that there is not some room in the word for "correction, rebuke", etc., but that is not our major function. We are to preach life, not death.

A false teacher is one who preaches a different gospel than that of Paul and the apostles, not one who doesn't have a 100% correct interpretation of scripture. If that is the case then we are all false teachers.

To say that C. H. Spurgeon (just to name one on the list) is a wolf in sheeps clothing is just stupid, not to mention an outright lie.

Here are just a few Scriptures......

    Philippians 3:17
“Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample.”

    2 Thessalonians 3:14,15
V.14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
V.15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

    2 Peter 2:1,2
V.1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
V.2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

    Romans 16:17
“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.”

    Acts 15:1,2
V.1And certain men which came down from Judaea taught the brethren, and said, Except ye be circumcised after the manner of Moses, ye cannot be saved.
V.2 When therefore Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and disputation with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas, and certain other of them, should go up to Jerusalem unto the apostles and elders about this question.

    1 Timothy 6:3-5
    V.3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;
V.4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
V.5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

    2 John 1:7-10
V.7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
V.8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
V.9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
V.10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

    Galatians 1:6-9
V.6 ¶ I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
V.7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
V.8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
V.9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any [man] preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

    Philippians 3:2,3
V.2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision.
V.3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

    2 John 1:10,11
V.10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
V.11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

    1 John 2:19
“They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.”

    1 Corinthians 5:9-11
V.9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:
V.10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.
V.11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

    2 Thessalonians 3:6
“Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.”

    2 Timothy 3:5
“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

    Titus 3:10
“A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;”

    and

    Matthew 7:15
“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”

    Stilllearning...

A couple of observations from the verses you posted.

First, notice the "separation" from such who teach false doctrine. But where does it say that we should war against them? In none of those verses does it say that WE (or rather a congregation, preacher, etc.) should take false teachers to task.

Second, how do you KNOW that you are not the false teacher?

According to the first verse you posted, those who do war against brothers and sisters in the Lord are false teachers!

    2 Thessalonians 3:14,15
V.14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
V.15 Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.

I see NO brotherhood amongst the IFB postings on the site I shared. Reading the actual articles is FAR worse than the mere page where they are all listed. These men of God, who have served well down through the ages are called everything from heretics to Satan.

    Hello glfredrick

    You asked.......
    Here are some.....
    2 Timothy 2:2-4
V.2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
V.3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
V.4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of [this] life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

    1 Timothy 1:18-20
    V.18 ¶ This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;
V.19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
V.20 Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.

    --------------------------------------------------
    Next you asked.......
The only way anyone can; By trusting God’s Word!
    --------------------------------------------------
    Finally you said.......
    And you site.......
    2 Thessalonians 3:14-15
V.14 And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
V.15 Yet count [him] not as an enemy, but admonish [him] as a brother.

I don’t know where you got this interpretation, but this passage actually says.......
“And if any man obey not our word by this epistle,”
(Use God’s Word to determine true and false Doctrine:)
    “note that man,”
(Those who teach false Doctrine should be pointed out:)...Just as this site does.
“and have no company with him,”
(Don’t join in fellowship with them:)
    “that he may be ashamed.”
(The real reason for these instructions:)...So that they will repent and come back to the Lord!
“Yet count [him] not as an enemy,”
(Some I saw listed in this website are professing Christians, so some rules apply:)
“but admonish [him] as a brother.”
(We should love our brethren enough to tell them the truth!).....
    Proverbs 27:5
“Open rebuke [is] better than secret love.”
