Woman Gets 50 Years in Jail for Man Stuck in her Windshield

Discussion in '2003 Archive' started by DeafChristian, Jun 28, 2003.

  1. What did you all think about the saga on this woman who was high on drugs, ran into a homeless man, and he got stuck in her windsheild for TWO HOURS (he was still alive!). She did not help him at all, and even called her boyfriend to tamper the evidence of the body (burned the passenger seat!).
She was convicted of murder for 50 years in jail, because:

    1. She was a nurse's aide (she couldv'e helped him, but she didn't).
    2. She was on drugs (on pot) every day at the nursing home where she worked.
    3. She didn't stop -- she passed her brother's workplace which is a firehouse....her brother was on call..she passed all the buildings, given the opportunity to help this man.
    4. She tampered the evidence and her boyfriend is now in jail for helping her.
    5. She CALLED HER BOYFRIEND, so she couldve had the opportunity to call an ambulance to get some help for this man!
    6. She left this bleeding man stuck in her windshield in her GARAGE, and he was moaning for her to help him. She did not help him at all.

I think she really needs some help.

I think she deserved the death penalty. This woman is heartless.

60 years is not enough even tho it will be her lifetime.

She first tried to dislodge him from her windshield, but was unable to, and then drove with his leg on her dashboard and parked in her garage.

Some people have no heart and very little soul.

Living in Ft. Worth as I do, we've followed this case from the time it happened. This gal was scared, which is understandable, but her behavior is inexcusable. The man was actually in her car windshield in her garage for 2 days, until she finally got her sometime boyfriend to come and do something with his body. The man moaned and pleaded with her to help him, but all she would do was tell him, "I'm so sorry!" When she hit him, she was within 5 minutes of the county hospital, but she wouldn't take him because she was scared. She had been doing marijuana and ecstacy and drinking; she hardly had the sense to know her own name, let alone be driving.

At first I was heartless toward her. Then I saw her testimony at the end of the trial. I still believe she deserves the stiffest sentence allowed by law, which was 99 years, I think. But I was also struck by the fact that, heinous as her crime is, God still loves her and would forgive her and welcome her into his family if she would simply turn to Him in repentance and faith. I am praying that somewhere along the way someone will be able to give her the Gospel and she will be saved - but she still should have to do the time.

I was absolutley sickened that somebody could do something like this. I hope the Fifty year jail term will ensure that she is never released from prision.

Why would somebody do something like this? Was it worth it to destroy the rest of your life?

I deserved death, but Jesus, in love and mercy, reached down and saved me. Thank you, Jesus, that I do not stand before a heartless society.

    Cheers,

    Jim
