What about a woman who is going through chemotherapy that loses her hair? Is she not allowed to attend church? It seems to me that these things have to be taken in the context given. I believe the context in this instance is cultural.

cancer, wouldn't keep her out of church whatsoever. Matter of fact the church would gather around her for support.

Is there not a difference between short hair and shorn? I have seen sheep that have been shorn, and it is usually almost to the skin. Yes, that is short hair, but at what point does short become shorn? I realize that some interpret this to mean that a woman should not ever cut her hair, but it is possible to 'shear' the ends off without becoming 'shorn'.

    Absolutely right Jim;
Women's hair dies at the ends and nothing wrong with cutting off that which is dead already.

We had a lady who suffered Leukemea, but had no problem with attending the gatherings. She wore a hat or had many ways whichever she wanted. Human beings try to find out many ways to excuse their disobedience to God.

Let me ask a question out of simple curiousity.

What if you had a single woman, like myself, who was visiting your church and who had short hair?

Would you ask her not to return for three or four years until her hair grew out or would you have hats for her to wear until it grew out?

I am very curious and don't mean to be coy in any way.

We should not try to invent a way to disobey what God commanded, or twist the words of God to suit our desire or our convenience.

We obey Our Lord by celebrating Lord's Supper every week with the emblem of Bread and Wine.
We obey God by calling Brother and Sister each other as Jesus commanded in Mt 23:8-11. When we call elders, we call them Brothers who work as elders.
We perform "disciplines" as we learn from 1 Cor 5 when we notice misconducts.
We find many sisters working a lot for the assemblies joyfully and they are happy because they know they obeyed the Lord.
I don't think they will be behind any other denomination's ladies in getting the reward from the Lord on His Day.
Do you want to teach them that they are wrong?
Do you expect that God will rebuke them because they followed the Bible teachings literally ?
We OBEY God as our Lord obey His Father even to death, which resulted in the Crucifixion.

It is not a right allusion or comparison to mention animal sacrifice.

Don't you know that all animal sacrifices were completed at the Cross when He cried " It is finished" ?
Do you think we do not know that all the Old Testament commandments were completed at the Cross?

We believe all the teachings of OT was already integrated in NT church teachings.

That's why we follow the NT commandments and Early Church demonstrated it very well.
    Early Church performed, practiced, obeyed,
    1) Calling Brothers and Sisters each other ( Mt 23:8-11)
    2) No priest, but all born-again believers were priests ( 1 Pet 2:5-9)
    3) Plural Elders ( Overseers) Deacons ( 1 Tim 3:1-13)
    4) Baptism by immersion ( Acts 8:37-38)
    5) Weekly Lord's Supper ( 1 Cor 11:23-30, Mt 26:26)
    6) Women's head covering ( 1Cor 11:1-16)
    7) Women's silence in the church service ( 1 Cor 14:34-35)
    8) Letter of Commendation when the saints visit other churches (Romans 16:1)
    9) Discipline on the misconducts ( 1 Cor 5)

Are they wrong because they obey God and Bible teachings?

On the Day of Great Judgment, they can excuse that they followed Bible teachings if you condemn them.
