Women in charge???

In conclusion, the will of God (in general) is for a woman to marry, bear children, and maintain the home, submitting to her husband as the head of the house. The principle of submission is given in Eph. 5, and in 1Cor.11, and elsewhere. The Scripture does not contradict itself. The principle here is not one of rule, but rather of occupying the house and maintaining it.

We live in a complicated society where many families must depend on two incomes just to survive. Is it a sin, therefore for a woman to work? Of course not. Lydia was a seller of purple. She had a business when Paul met her in Acts 16. Pricilla helped her husband in the making of tents. She was part of the business. If you study the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31, you will find that this woman worked very hard, and was involved in much work of a secular nature even to the extent of land speculation or real estate.

It is not wrong for the woman to work outside the home, as long as the home is cared for. One must have their priorities set.

James 4:13-15 Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

The most important thing: Don't leave God out of the picture. What is the Lord's will in each individual's life?

AMEN DHK! I was having a hard time articulating what you put into words perfectly.

Only God knows. And it isn't limited to just me, but every man trying to fill the role that God has given us, to support his family, that is a mans responsibility,and women are not alone in the blame either, how many men have fooled around with a woman, having sex before getting married, and got a girl pregnant, then took off on her leaving her alone to raise, and support a child? All of it falls back on living a life in-line with Gods will, what is Gods will, he clearly spells it out for us in his word. earlier it was pointed out what if someone was made a widow? well then by all means, trust God, do not lean on your own understanding, and do the responsible thing, what ever that may be, and may God have mercy on you, as you strugle keeping your family afloat.
