    I think we could all agree that works speaks to something man does, but this mean that God plays no role in works? What role does God play? Who is the responsible party for the moral intents and subsequent moral actions of man? Is God ultimately responsible or is man?

    You get saved by WORKS.

    Yes, you get saved by the WORKS OF JESUS!

    You do not get saved by your works.

    You are not saved by your good works;
    you are saved to do good works.

    Yes, you get saved by the WORKS OF JESUS!

    Hint: The bible ALWAYs blames MAN if the works are not good!

    Hint: The bible NEVER says "this man's works were not good because God had bad motives in his case". NOR does the bible say "Because God failed to supply good motives this man had bad works".

    RATHER in John 16 we find that God "CONVICTS THE WORLD of sin and righteousness and judgment" and in Acts "God calls ALL MANKIND EVERYWHERE to repent"!!

    (Just stating the obvious)

    In Christ,

    Bob

    HP: There is not one person on this list that claims they get saved by their works that I have ever heard. What earthly purpose does it serve to continually misrepresent the sentiments of others? You have your talking point, but it is as empty as a ham hung from the ceiling of the smoke house that has been hollowed out by the rats.

    The works of Jesus built the bridge whereby all could be saved, but there was no one saved simply on the account that Christ satisfied the penalty of the law by making an atonement for sin. No one is saved apart from the fulfillment of the conditions God has set forth. Yes, there are some things man must do in order to be saved, without which no salvation is possible. God first calls on men everywhere to repent and then to exercise faith. Those are things God does not do for man. Man must be the first cause of those chosen intents in order to be saved.
